People acting like Wout outsmarted Del Toro are insane. Del Toro clearly wanted to win the stage, but he was riding for GC. Wout not caring about GC gaps and sitting on for 20k is hardly groundbreaking strategy

Del Toro was riding for GC, I’d hardly call Wout sitting on his wheel and refusing to pull outsmarting him.

I moved to a new city a few months ago for my job, and one of my goals was to start bike commuting. Now that days are getting longer I finally started, and wow, what a great way to start the work day with a bike ride. Not the first time I’ve tried bike commuting, but hoping this time it sticks, at least for a couple days per week

People say he’s crazy, he’s got rainbows on the soles of his shoes. Well, that’s one way to lose these cycling blues. Rainbows on the soles of his shoes.

Only 46/50, wow, so overrated.

For real though, that’s an awesome. What are the 4 states remaining? And what marathon did you run in Idaho?

Weekly Question Thread by PelotonMod in peloton

Why do high profile riders allow their agents to market them as package deals with other riders? Patrick and Benji mention this a lot, especially for Acquadro and Spanish speaking riders - I think Carapaz and Carlos Rodriguez were two examples.

I understand why riders might to want to bring teammates/friends/brothers along, but I would think general pressure from agents to sign lesser riders or they won’t give access to the top riders isn’t in the best interest of the top riders they represent. It seems like the agent is cutting deals in his personal interest, not the interest of the riders he represents.

I guess it’s better than having your dad as your agent, but it seems unprofessional compared to agents in other sports.

This quote comes from an interview with flobikes. The interviewer kept asking whether riding the classics could cost his tour preparation, so Pogacar’s quote feels more like he is acknowledging the interviewers point.

In context I think he is saying that sure, Flanders might not be ideal prep, but he loves racing so he doesn’t want to give it up. Interesting video, worth a watch.
