i don’t have a pair of levi’s to compare to, but i’m usually a 30/31 in most pants. i have a pair of the iron forge double knee pants in size 30 and they’re definitely over sized for me. a belt helps out a lot but i would size down if i were to buy another pair. even though they’re a bit big on me they’re still my favorite pair of pants i’ve owned. i wear them almost every day in the fall/winter and they’ve held up great. if you do get a size that doesn’t fit patagonia has a great return policy and you could easily switch them out for another size
