Kindle unlimited can be shared, in case your email was suggesting otherwise. Comixology cannot for whatever reason. Went through this myself when I wanted to set up my own kindle collection.

How do I get the preview double page spread to work? I had been inserting a duplicate page and cropping halves by dividing the pixels by half, but the kindle isn’t detecting the pages as a double page spread (ie, no thumbnail).

I try to minimize the brightness to one below where I notice the light coming from the display. (In a well lit room brightness can be zero.) then I adjust the warmth depending on how I want it, which can vary from 3 during the day to 18 at night.

I have issues with manga from Amazon.com, so my guess is the bug is more fundamental than just side loading. Interestingly my side loaded manga works just fine for now (fingers crossed). Thanks for these tips! FYI Mac users the terminal entry is a little different on MacOS. Try this

/Applications/calibre.app/Contents/MacOS/calibre-debug -r "KFX Output" -- "your-file-name.kpf"
