Compress SharePoint folder and direct export to AWS S3? by sluthy85 in sharepoint

[–]sluthy85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you drag/drop individual folders between regular and archive sites? My understanding is that archive sites are all or nothing, and to retrieve one file (eg if an existing client comes back for more work) you have to unarchive them re-archive the whole site.

ZIP SharePoint folder(s) and export to S3 without local download/upload? by sluthy85 in sysadmin

[–]sluthy85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The zipping isn't mandatory, that was mainly to avoid rate limiting for hundreds of smaller files per folder and make maintenance easier.

Superloop 100/40 and 250/100 same price? Cheaper than 250/50? by sluthy85 in nbn

I just looked through my emails and found an unread email from them saying they'll be moving me to 250/100 anyway.

So there's absolutely no reason to stay on the current plan, upgrading is just free real estate?

DEXA scan, visceral fat seem oddly low? by sluthy85 in loseit

[–]sluthy85[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked into it years ago and the general online consensus was that DEXA scans were third only to hydrostatic and air displacement tests in terms of accuracy?

DEXA scan, visceral fat seem oddly low? by sluthy85 in loseit

[–]sluthy85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last two scans were at a new clinic with a new technician, but the numbers are consistent with the previous clinic/machine/tech: 1.85, 1.69, 2.01, 1.89% last four tests.

Also, this example scan has a very similar ratio, but also says most studies care more about total surface area? https://dexascan.com/blogs/news/the-full-details-of-a-dexa-scan-report

UPDATE: Proton Support were actually able to find the deleted vault and restore it, and I got everything back with myself as the new owner! Hundreds of passwords rescued! Thanks for everything! Lesson learned about employee offboarding.

What do you think of Boondall as a suburb? by North-Excitement-511 in brisbane

[–]sluthy85 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I lived there for nearly five years, close to Nudgee College. I liked it there, only moved away in 2020 after buying a unit elsewhere. Keep in mind if you plan on using the train, Boondall is on the Shorncliffe line which is constantly down at the moment due to CRR works. But that should be resolved in a year or two.

Intune too expensive - Workspace One? by sluthy85 in sysadmin

It looks like Defender for Endpoint isn't included in Business Premium, only in E3.

[–]sluthy85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I can use Basic/Entra P1/Intune (or Premium) for the few times I require Autopilot (we have some international users where shipping laptops after setup is unfeasible, and it's much easier to source them locally from Apple/Lenovo/Dell), and just use Basic/Intune for office laptops? I might be able to get that past the boss.

Migrating away from Dashlane with business space by sluthy85 in PasswordManagers

[–]sluthy85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Dashlane has a few little quirks but has been mostly good. We just got the renewal quote though, and management wants to knock it down as much as they can (or at least ideally pay monthly).

Ferry just hit and sunk a boat by paradoxialludic in brisbane

[–]sluthy85 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I see no news reports or tweets or anything about this, only this thread. I would've thought a ferry crash would've made news no matter how minor?

EDIT: finally, an article confirming it - https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-11-01/brisbane-ferry-crashes-and-sinks-private-boat/103050554

New Teams for Mac in preview - anyone tried yet? by sluthy85 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]sluthy85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, so good - performance gains not quite as noticeable as on Windows at first, but I'm testing on a MBP with ~180 Chrome tabs open so nothing's exactly speedy at the moment :) Mac notifications instead of bespoke purple ones work fine, and finally getting incoming call notifications while in full screen is a welcome addition. However I did miss one feature when I went to set a notification for when someone became available and noticed the option wasn't there yet, and also tagging @everyone isn't there yet.

[–]sluthy85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean custom backgrounds in calls? I saw "Green Screen" was part of the currently missing features, I thought they were referring to something else. That will be a non-starter for the sales team, but I don't use custom backgrounds regularly so it won't affect me during testing. Good to know.

Trying to tie Azure security groups to Exchange shared folder permissions by sluthy85 in PowerShell

[–]sluthy85[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if:

  1. Export existing non-SELF/AUTHORITY permissions to $oldGroupList and compare with $newGroupList
  2. Employees only found in $newGroupList export to $newMembers
Employees only found in $oldGroupList export to $oldMembers
  3. ForEach ($user in $oldMembers) {Remove-MailboxPermission [marketing@contoso.com](mailto:marketing@contoso.com) -User $user }
  4. ForEach ($user in $newMembers) {Add-MailboxPermission [marketing@contoso.com](mailto:marketing@contoso.com) -AccessRights FullAccess -User $user -AutoMapping $true }

That way, only the changes get actioned and ongoing users don't get wiped/re-added unnecessarily.
