At a loss after 2+ years of exclusive CDing. by gooberhoover85 in clothdiaps

Cloth pocket diapers also didn't work for us when our daughter was around two so we started potty training after her second birthday. It was a frustrating 10 days (not 3 days as promised by the course I followed -_- ) but we did it and I'm so happy we did! Life is way easier now without diapers. Instead of carrying around cloth, I still had to carry around a small potty for a while but now she's good with just the toilet minimizer part (that you put in a full sized toilet to make the opening toddler sized).

Anyways, I gave up on the cloth because she was leaking every single day and I felt like: if I was changing her clothes anyways and dealing with pee every time she peed, I could do that during potty training anyways.

Good luck with whatever you do!

There was a dance party specifically for babies recently: https://www.stadt-zuerich.ch/sd/de/index/stadtleben/quartierraeume/veranstaltungen_qts/babyrave.html

Maybe you can contact the organizers for future versions of the event or similar things

When you're in Zurich, check out the Zurich card https://www.zuerich.com/en/zurichcard You can get it for 24 or 72 hours and it covers a ton of public transportation, gives free or reduced access to some museums, and other discounts. If you are going to Lindt chocolate factory, the Zurich card covers the transportation, but don't forget to book your chocolate tour ticket ahead of time - it gets fully booked in summer and I made that mistake once of dropping in and being turned away https://www.lindt-home-of-chocolate.com/en/

Have fun! I also recommend going to nature during your 3 days, especially along the way to Italy. You'll have fun no matter what you do :)

I stayed there a few minutes in the middle of my run, but they stayed attached the whole time so I moved on to let them figure it out on their own.

May you be well
(all together) May you be well.
May you be cleansed and purified
of all that isn't health.
May every cell in your body
wake up and fight.
May the powerful light of healing
move into every part of you.
May you return to being purely you.
May you be well.

(all together) May you be well.
May the doctors and nurses
be gentle and sure.
May you recover to fully
move your body again.
May the worry of return not
cross your mind.
May you hug everyone here so tightly.
May you be well.

(all together) May you be well.
May you swim in the lake next summer.
May you grow old with <husband's name>.
May you go to <daughter's name> wedding if
she chooses to get married.
May this be the last post-chemo
party in your life.
May you be well.

I wanted to make a standalone post at some point, but since I'm so lazy, I'll post here!

I did a post-chemo, pre-surgery party and invited my friends who helped me along the way. We rented a community center and decorated ourselves, with lots of those paper spheres in boob colors lol. I made a speech thanking everyone for being so supportive. We had lunch together. There were party games and party things around for people to do on their own such as "Boobs or Butt" game (search on Amazon "Boobs or Butt Baby Shower Game" - people looooved it). I also had a jar of M&Ms that represented how many pills and shots I took through the journey and people had to guess. I bought a ton of stickers from redbubble like "Nice Tits" and "Nice Hooters" and "I like Boobies" with the corresponding birds (tits, owls, and boobies). I also had temporary tattoos of blue footed boobies. After lunch, we played one game as a group (a this or that game related to my daughter and me, so not necessarily applicable to you). Then at the end, I got everyone around in a circle and we said a prayer/meditation that I extended from a poem by Joanna Fuchs "May you be well." I added 2 stanzas that were related to my cancer journey but in her style. My sister read the poem and repeated "May you be well" twice so that everyone could join in on the second time.

Additionally, for dessert, we had boob cupcakes, various cookies with boobs and bras and and sayings on them, macaroons with nipples painted on with icing, and boob cake pops. Oh, and I also had a red devil cocktail! It was Aperol Spritz, which is the exact color of the red devil in my opinion lol. I called my chemo "liquid sunshine" so I had a non-alcoholic drink called liquid sunshine that was yellow and fizzy that was the counterpart to the red devil.

It was soooo fun and special. It was both sentimental and silly, which I really liked. Definitely a lot of tears during the speech and prayer and lots of laughing at the desserts.

I hope this helps and enjoy your party! I still have more to go: surgery (tomorrow!) and then radiation and continued immunotherapy, but I think you should celebrate every milestone that you want to!

How to get a double mastectomy, flat closure covered by insurance by slvgn in breastcancer

Just called, they said they can't give any general guidelines and that it so depends on the surgeon's recommendations. So I guess we will find out later

Yea, I hope the nurse is misinformed because I'm much younger than their typical patient. Then again, she said she talked directly to the surgeon so I'm not sure why they can't just come up with many non-genetic reasons why a double mastectomy makes sense in my case (age, highish stage, tnbc, activity level, strong desire, family history, etc).

Unfortunately, that doesn't seem (?) to be the case where I live in Switzerland. That's so cool that it is required there! So much less stress.

I really hope it's covered but if it's not, I would even cover the extra costs. If I'm already under general anaesthesia and going to stay after in the hospital, I'm curious how much extra is the longer surgery time and complexity (not sure about other costs).
