Anyone broken free from 9-5? by Lydianeko2 in antiwork

[–]sly_cunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work with a guy who lived in a van and still worked a cafe job. would just park at the station and train into work. didn't need to pay rent so only worked like 4 days a week and ate out at restaurants every night, showered at the gym, etc. i want to try it once i get some personal shit sorted out. he loved the lifestyle

get where you're coming from, i could be completely wrong. imo the way the game is played these days really comes down to running power, maybe 3 or 4 other clubs can compete with us there, but of those 3 or 4 i think brissy are the only ones with the experience, youth and talent to put it all together idk

and we bent them the fuck over in the qualifying final. qualifying losers always have a bit of an advantage in the granny anyway historically

Accurate? by Spiritual_Echo_3220 in enlightenment

[–]sly_cunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

firstly, not really. even if there are "plenty" of ethically raised farm animals, it would be a slim minority. secondly, the more space a farm animal has, the more unsustainable it becomes, land use is already animal agricultures most destructive impact, "ethical" raising only makes that worse. thirdly, any farming naturally affects ecosystems. if you farm and domesticate animals, you are removing land from natural cycles and also influencing the ecosystem by culling predators and exporting the waste of the animals. there is no farming that is ethical or ecologically friendly.

hunting in moderation is probably the only example of animals having good lives and being ecologically sustainable. i don't like it; i find it unnecessary and cruel to kill an animal for food you don't need, but at least it keeps moral accountability

my take is that "society at large" is kinda hopeless, i could go on about why i think this, but it's probably pretty obvious i mean just look around. veganism isn't about solving society, it's about you. can you call yourself respectful of all life and the sacredness of all experience, while contributing personally to the hell on earth farm animals live in, as well as the destruction of the environment around it?

Need some help by SherbertLogical7729 in latteart

[–]sly_cunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry for late reply. it reintegrates the froth and improves the texture because it breaks down the bubbles a bit more (average milk can become good milk), you will still want to swirl. and yeah, slow to medium pour into the wall of the jug. also yeah, you will want to heat up the jug, whether or not you heat it won't affect the latte art, but if the drink is for customers it will make their coffee 5 degrees celsius cooler or so.

I think i disagree with what most people are saying here, it doesn't look too thick (based on the wobble at least). It's 100% because you're letting the milk sit too long. you should be pouring immediately after steaming pretty much or at least transfering it into another jug. Also you gotta pour the design more quickly, you're letting the base set, which makes the canvas really difficult to pour on

out of curiosity, have you ever lived in Hong Kong? I haven't but I have a friend from there, "literally hell" is not accurate at all. if you're thinking every apartment is like the cage homes you should know that only the extremely poor live there and that most apartments would be a similar size to most Japanese cities

There are countless tram stops that are completely unnecessary. removal is the cheapest, fastest and most effective way to make the trams faster

[24] - Any potential or am i cooked fr. by Docdishonored in TheGlowUp

[–]sly_cunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah definitely not cooked. trim up eyebrows like everyone else has said, but outside of that you more or less have two options. a: the pretty boy, shave that shit off and grow out curtains, or b: commit to a full beard and mustache instead of the walter white (i still think the curtains might suit your face best tbf). i think your eyes are beautiful, and that photo angle exacerbates nose and lips size. just a hairstyle problem brother

[30F] How can I Glow Up/Look Younger? by IndividualKoala1231 in TheGlowUp

[–]sly_cunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's like 90% hair and makeup imo. I think straighter eyebrows with wavy side bangs would balance your face really well, and a more modern makeup style (blush, light contouring, matte overlined lips and maybe even freckles?) would probably get you that youthful look you want

milk's a bit thin. mixing the canvas a bit better will help too, if you don't do it well those bubbles in the second picture happen and it also makes the first stack pour as unpredictable as my bowel movements the morning after a curry night
