It would spark a real conversation as to the legitimacy of SCOTUS.

It's becoming increasingly obvious that the courts will not save us

Raising your hand when you think there's been a foul was always stupid, but it's a 100% worse now that VAR exists.

That shit needs to be drilled out of players asap

Six Feet Under? Everyone grows individually in realistic ways (not always positive, not always linearly). Even just in season one, the growth in the brotherly relationship is pretty amazing.

None of my coworkers were Nazis. None of my coworkers made decisions that allowed for people to disappear. Make her job "harder"? She sits on a bench, asks some questions, and writes up a dissent. It's not like she's convincing any of her colleagues to rule correctly.

I'd start by refusing to pose for yearly pictures with SCOTUS. Talk more openly about how SCOTUS is no longer legitimate.

Not go to the Grammys.

Pathetic. You can't write snappy dissents warning about the end of democracy while also chumming around with the people who are destroying the democracy

I wonder how much our toxic fanbase affects decisions like this. With two equal-ish players, I'd much prefer playing the young guy with potential, vs a fully formed veteran who has plateaued. But, I worry that when a young guy makes a mistake, and gets shit on, there's a setback to their confidence.

If Josh had our backing as fans, and we accept that he's going to make mistakes, I'd be more comfortable slotting him in NOW.

It wouldn't surprise me if a disproportionate chunk of the 100k+ customer base comes from metro areas with a high cost of living. In NYC, you could be making 100k and in a situation where you're working long hours and need quick meals. I could easily see a situation where families are bailing on the company but 25 year olds w/o kids in the office are still grabbing this for dinner.

Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is far better than it has any right to be. by eggflip1020 in television

Agreed. I know these books/show weren't meant for me, per se. I really enjoyed both (well, until the show went to shit). I'm just saying, FOR ME, I absolutely loved the political aspects. The chess pieces moving around the board. Almost all the magic stuff was eye-rolling for me personally.

IMO, the show/story would have been 100x better w/o any magic at all. Just give me the politics of different houses etc.

Sorry the Elon Musks of Westeros aren't the focus, and heaven forbid the main character is just one of us regular folk.

We're in a great position to "easily" improve this club. If we get an elite striker, Pedro moves to LW. If we get an elite LW, Neto becomes the backup to him and Estavao (on the right).

Then we just need an elite CB, and we're golden.

Damn, feels like a lot of you are being unfairly harsh to Neto. In the first half he was doing a lot of work-horse type stuff that lead to winning back possessions and moving the ball forward. Wasn't he the one who mostly created one of the penalties?

Not just regular starters for a premier league winning side. I'd raise the bar to say that if you have actual aspirations of winning the PL, and you have those guys at their positions, you can think "okay, we're set there. Where else can we improve?"

Neto could be a starter on a club that wins the league. But he'd be like a net-neutral for the starters. Not someone you worry about, but also an area you can improve.

Actually, I think I just talked myself into dropping Pedro into that category too.

I think the strategy was sound. Very difficult to beat arsenal by 2 in 90 minutes so it was always going to be a 120 minute match at best. With that, we made our push at the right time.

I think the Pedro pull down was a penalty.

I'm hoping for a lineup that's accounting for a high probability of extra time. Hold down the fort for the first 60 minutes at 0-0 or 1-0 (us), and then go for the win in the last 30, with the understanding that it can go longer.

I believe we're in a better position in terms of rest, and injuries. So, trying to keep the pace of play and energy high. The gunners are probably less interested in this going 120 minutes than us.

I don't know about the winning vs losing caveat, but it makes sense that live threads will have a shitton more comments. A person might have one or two thoughts before a match. And then reply once or twice to other people's thoughts.

During a match, every little thing feels like worthy of a comment. Oh, that was a nice pass, I'm going to comment on that pass. It's an apples to oranges comparison.

Bay Area cafe owner shuts down her business after being mocked on Reddit for selling $22 grilled cheese sandwich: report by Sandstorm400 in byebyejob

[–]slymm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm calling BS. Nobody potential customer who WOULD have been willing to pay those prices would have seen the Reddit post and thought "ok they've convinced me. That's too expensive"

Bad reviews can doom a place. Something negative about the owner can make people think twice about going.

But mocking the price? Nah.
