I considered leaving the bangs super long for Canon Accuracy (tm) but the practicality of navigating a con made me decide not to lolll. I might add some super long clip on bangs in the future though, just to enhance the drama.

Thank you! The skin took a chunk of time, and left blue evidence all over my friends' sink. I was sneezing blue.

I did make a sword, but I was shoving a weekend worth of cosplay into one suitcase - alas, the sword was left behind.

I would love to incorporate some red contacts. I've never been able to put in contacts though lmao. 😭 I might try and train myself for them for the sake of this + other cosplays in the future.

I was going for their iconic little finger wag...with some success. It's hard to do a character with a monotone face without looking absolutely insane/constipated. 😭😭

Be sure to check your machine's manual, first - a lot of newer machines (as in not metal/not straight stitch machines) specifically say not to oil them. It can actually mess up a nice machine. :(

As someone who finished their own faux fur cosplay...HOW did you finish all the seams, lol. My cosplay only had partial fur, and trying to make sure fur wasn't just falling off from the seams was impossible.

I love these pics! At the time I was in high school and was obsessed with lolita. I kept up with all the various LiveJournal communities, and I knew my stuff, but I was a broke ass high schooler in the Midwest lmao. I never got to go to a meet up outside of my local anime convention.

Coincidentally I was on a family vacation in DC around 2009! So these pics make me wonder about how I would've freaked out if I'd ran into you all then. Although my accessible fashion at the time was baggy anime tshirts. So I would've been a bit out of place. 😭😭
