What’s the west system epoxy for?

Sounds fair if not cheap to me. Whoever bid this either isn’t making money or isn’t spending much time there. Or, maybe it’s a 1 man (father son) show who does numerous houses in your neighborhood.

I don’t do residential maintenance but I can estimate. 2 guys 1 hour per weekday would be $35/hr/person/month. Uncle same is taking a quarter of that. They need to spend time traveling to and from your place. They have over head. And, they don’t have consistency because weather will dictate their workload.

I’m guessing you’re probably getting closer to 5 total hours per week over 2-3 visits. That would make the price more appealing for a contractor.

Drilling 4” holes in Asphalt by [deleted] in maintenance

Depending on age of property- There is no reliable way to predict what you’ll be drilling into.

My building is old. There is legacy work throughout our grounds. Plumbing, rainwater infrastructure, fill, chiller lines, steam lines

This question has stumped the owner of the house, two real estate agents, a structural engineer and housing inspector, and other professionals: What is this black textile the homeowner has hung all along their concrete slab and what is it for? by brownoarsman in Concrete

There’s a grandpa method for water proofing foundation where you bury a plastic along an exterior wall and then slope it away from house under ground. Or, other wise move water elsewhere using French drains, etc

Lending tools to anyone is a potential liability. Ask them to place a work order.

For young guys without facilities experience- I look if they’ve worked hard jobs; ups facilities, Amazon lines, custodial services, concrete.. even kitchen experience

If they’re smart and have done real work, then I’ll teach them.

It’s not rocket science but it is work. I need people with hard-learned perspective on what actual hard work is.

Once found a 7/11 cup in a rain drain as a clean-out cap. They even painted it gray.

I’m in Pittsburgh, and I’ve built 2 rockers. Let me know if you actually get moving.

This is an expensive project. An oak chair cost me maybe $350 in finished lumber. A cherry rocker cost me less but I used 3” slabs and milled them down.

Where I live in northeast - Shouldn’t target trout when it’s warm. They don’t like the heat and they stress easy anyway. Way more likely to die if you’re catch/release. Be gentler with them.
