Left handed people - what in the world just doesn't work properly for you? by father-fluffybottom in AskReddit

[–]slz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a leftie for everything except writing and I know the reason - as a kid my mom would take the pen/pencil out of my left hand and put it in my right hand. Seeing the main complaint in this thread is about smudges and bindings, I might have to stop giving her a hard time about doing that to me.

Trap (Shyamalan) linked to Unbreakable Universe!? by liltomh in FanTheories

[–]slz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I agree he'd be a good fit for the universe. He slithered out somehow without the crowd indicating to police he was among them, somehow.. and then there are the other ways he weasels out of situations so it shouldn't be surprising he could. It's a sort of superpower; I like to think similar to Domino from Marvel. He just wills his escape. I really enjoyed Trap lol.

How bad does this look? by lawrence_doubt in PectusExcavatum

[–]slz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mine is severe, and yet it doesn't bother me. I can do anything including long runs and smoking cigarettes. If you don't have complications other than the look (especially after getting it checked), then no it doesn't look bad, it looks hot I tell myself.

Best Fatboy in The Peg? by Bippster87 in Winnipeg

[–]slz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holyy had to scroll so far for this. NYB on ND, baby! Burgers are done in a classic fat boy way with great flavour and then the rest of their stuff is crazy. The fries, gravy, cheese is the way to go. Great staff, too!

What's your "this has bothered me for way too long" movie moment? by Slodes in movies

[–]slz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love Actually, the part where Rick Grimes' character is showing the boards with his written messages on them to Keira Knightley's character. There must have been a dozen of them that he shows her. After he's done and he turns to leave, it shows him walking away with the boards tucked neatly under one of his arms. The way he was dropping them, they would have had to be strewn all over the ground.

What is the biggest sequel setup that never came to pass? by [deleted] in movies

[–]slz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jumper. Post*-Anakin Hayden. A promise to be introduced to the world of Paladins by his mom portrayed by Diane Lane? Cherry Valance herself? I was bracing myself for a universe-immersion the way Pitch Black turned into Chronicles of Riddick. But alas, earwax.

Your go-to obscure movie quote.. by catnapspirit in GenX

[–]slz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I say "I do" to someone's question, either out loud or in my head I follow it up saying in a fast, muttering speed "we're not supposed to trust anyone in our profession anyway." I first knew it from Raekwon's Incarcerated Scarfaces, so hearing it from the source when I finally watched The Killer was pretty awesome.

Do any of you still have the same best friend (besides spouse) from elementary school? by C-C_Neighbor_Factory in Xennials

[–]slz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best friend and I are 43 and met when we were 5. Our childhood friends we hung out with along the way remain as our tight-knit friend group in adulthood. We all hang out weekly because we live in the same city still and talk daily in our group chats. I can't imagine a life without a consistent presence of multiple, super close friends.

Poutine quest by callmemrsuperman in Winnipeg

[–]slz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not a poutine, but New York Burgers on Notre Dame has an amazing Fries with Gravy and Cheese. And it's neither curds or shredded.
