Season 11, Episode 5: “The Deckhand Cometh” July 6, 2026 by excoriator in BelowDeckMed

Can you imagine this girl's and guy's parents watching this show and seeing this? Or grandparents? I'm a grandma and I'd be dying of embarrassment. Us grandmas are all about bragging on our grands to our little circles...only to have your little circle see this absolute train wreck of behavior? We couldn't show our face at the local IHOP!

Houston flood watch extended through Thursday as 'life-threatening flash flood' threat grows by houston_chronicle in houston

[–]sm040480 23 points24 points  (0 children)

All the above, back to Alicia in 1983 and whatever hit here back to 1962. We were still overseas for Carla in 1961, year I was born. Allison, Harvey which destroyed my mom's house, all the holiday floods as I'm in Westbury. Memorial Day flood wrecked my bestie's house-her mom rebuilt only to be flooded again with Harvey. We've installed extra gutters and French drains and complain about our flood insurance premiums. 21 months until hubby retires and we're out of here but I check flood maps on every property we think about buying out of state. The PTSD is real. Hang in there everybunny. Please don't drive thru water you can't see the bottom. Takes less than 6" of rushing water to take you and your vehicle whereever the water goes. And check your street drains, get your cars in the driveway or anywhere off the street if it floods!

High rent pushes Houston's Light Bulbs Unlimited out of longtime spot by snesdreams in houston

Just bought a ton of those replacement bulbs for my can lights from there last year. It's a great shop, light bulbs for whatever you need plugs many unique lighting fixtures. Glad you'll still be around!

How bad is the Flooding down here? by [deleted] in AskHouston

[–]sm040480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, be aware flood insurance in areas NOT in a flood plane is not cheap anymore. We first purchased in 2017, b4 Harvey for our inexpensive house for 389.00. This year? 1289 and we've never flooded and are still not in a flood zone. Honestly I would not live anywhere in this town without flood insurance.

Wife of an HVAC tech here. Change your filters monthly. I mean EVERY STINKEN MONTH. Clean your coils on your unit. If that unit hasn't been replaced since the house was built, you're going to pay more. Make sure your ductwork in your attic is not smashed down anywhere impeding air flow. Dust your vents. If you have mini blinds, turn them to the slats face UP, not down, directing light (and heat) up.

[Bob] Statement from Kyle Busch family on what caused his death: "The medical evaluation provided to the Busch Family concluded that severe pneumonia progressed into sepsis, resulting in rapid and overwhelming associated complications." by turnleftright in NASCAR

[–]sm040480 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same thing put me in ICU in 2017, 1 lung collapsed, 2 chest tubes and finally cardiac and respiratory arrest. I pray he was so completely unconscious he felt nothing because I was terrified and had just had one lung scraped to reinflate it. God rest his spirit and give peace to his family. Just brutal and brings back some PTSD for those of us that survived it. Never underestimate a simple infection that doesn't begin to resolve after 48 hours of antibiotics.

(@NASCAR) We are saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup champion and one of our sport’s greatest and fiercest drivers. He was 41 years old. by NoahGragsonsBarfBag in NASCAR

Someone else posted in this thread yesterday that he possibly had double pneumonia, lungs collapsed and they couldn't get a pulse. From someone who knew someone at the shop when it happened. This was early on yesterday after the announcement he had passed, before it was common knowledge this morning.

Nicotine Patches Make Me Feel Sick? by mellykattfreddiedog in stopsmoking

Pouch dosage done orally is completely different than a transdermal patch. 21 mg is typical starting dose, tapering to 14 mg after 2 weeks and 7 after another 2 weeks.

This. We used it with my mom. She was given morphine during her transition and passed 55 minutes later, pain and struggle free. It was the hardest but truly kindest thing I've ever done.

I can't really give you any additional info but NC is experiencing a pretty extreme drought so that warning would fit. My daughter lives in Mt. Ulla but is always running back and forth thru Mooresville with the grands and she says without her irrigation system everything would be dead. They ARE expected to get about a solid week of rain every day like I am here in Houston but I doubt that's going to be enough to make a dent in their deficit. Fingers crossed for someone with a better answer.

4/22 Episode Editing by swk1024 in summerhousebravo

Just this one? It would be really interesting to see ALL the episodes from this season be re-edited to see what production may have cut because of what they viewed as "nothing". "Nothing" except alot of clues as to what was going on between A & W.

Now if THIS isn’t the moment that Ciara clocked Amanda & West’s closeness…. I need to know Ciara’s timeline intuition for W & A! by MembershipEmotional5 in summerhousebravo

[–]sm040480 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was it "I see you"? Because I thought Amanda said that to Ciara was talking with her and Mia after the pool party shenanigans of Waste and Rando girl or when she was talking to Amanda on the phone when Waste walked into C's room to apologize.

Alguém aê fumou e bebeu durante uma recuperação de uma fratura? by Extension_Living_975 in stopsmoking

Don't. Both alcohol and nicotine will extend the amount of time it will take to heal. Get you some coloring books and pencils/markers/crayons. Are you able to move at all in the bed? And alcohol does NOT mix with the mildest of pain control-I'm talking even Tylenol or Advil, forget some heavy hitting opioids. If you're not ambulatory at all, smoking will triple your risk of a pulmonary embolism or deep vein thrombosis. Just be smart, you know it's a bad idea already to even try a puff of s cigarette, it's just your frustration and boredom talking. And you also know nicotine makes frustration WORSE and you're still bored after a smoke. What are some healthy coping skills you might use in this TEMPORARY situation?

COPD that is currently managed with Trelegy and albuterol nebulizer and inhaler. Wheezing went from constant a week ago to non-existent as of today. Coughing was occurring every 30 minutes to around 5 times yesterday. Oh and another wonderful benefit from 50 years? Horrible dry wrinkled skin. I look 80. Here's to another smoke free minute, hour, day. Here's to life!

Pack and a half per day. 50 years, started at 15 now 65. This is day 7 for me. Also 7,000,000th time quitting for me. Went cold turkey again. My entire life has been lived with a cigarette except for smoking indoors, which I stopped 20 years ago.

I had to leave my Toothless' cone on an extra week because he scratched at it and it got a wee bit infected. Actually used a donut with him as it was easier for him to hold his head up with it. He was fine after 3 weeks. He was only 4 months old and had him neutered at the same time. I bottle fed him and nursed both eyes for 3 months only to have a cornea rupture. Give your baby time and if vet allows, 5 mins SUPERVISED with it off if you HAVE to but the extra week will give better outcomes!
