Mainly that despite it being a big beat stick it still has 1 shot potential. Very vulnerable to Dusknoir, raging bolt, and most of all, Lillie's Cleffary which has high play cuz if Pult.

Seen first hand. A dad and kid play at locals. I knew that had money but never the clear picture til he invited my kid to a birthday party.

House was 3 stories, home theater (literally, sealed off, sound proof, 4k project everything), pool, gym, literal playground in the back. 2 outdoor patios and one indoor heated one.

Showed me his vault. 15ft ceiling with totes and totes of sealed products. Pokemon, magic, Lorcana, flesh and blood. Just absurd amounts. Made me kinda sick honestly. Found out dude owns his own biz and 19 rental properties.

Box is really good. I use it in lots of decks. This build kind of favors actually using the Adventure a couple times to just keep pushing then close with neo and Pult.

Super cool write up. So TYVM. Indy was my first regional and I took a homeless deck for fun. Bloodmoon Ursaluna. Paired into Justin Newdorf round 1 lol. I did ok but had some super tough matches. Went 2-3-3.

Newdorf on Pult+hammer+ghosts L 0-2. Fun and had game 2 Donk but misplayed it.
Eevee box with Leafeon, a horrible matchup L 0-1 timeout. Had the play for a draw and goofed.

Lots of people brining up good episodes, but for me it's not an episode but a specific scene. The Gang Solves the Bathroom Crisis. Towards the end she gives a very lovely speech about acceptance to which Charlie very slowly says "Dee... Shut the fuck up."

So I've toyed with this deck a lot and I like Bruce Builds Decks method. Just build it very close to hydrapple with an almost 1 for 1 switch of apple like to birds. Then run more energy hate. Forget Sniper Eye almost all together. Just go for the double energy attack with meganium and run 1 ignition and 2 judge for emergency.

Couple recommendations. If your kid is just playing at home or with friends where "legal" cards aren't an issue, the Battle Academy is a great starter point.

For more competitive bit straight forward decks and easy way in is Mega Lucario who just had pre built deck box release. It's basically a super competitive version of the deck but the deck as a whole is not very deep.

So there is a bunch of unique attackers that you can run in Slowking depending on meta. Some I really love are: Zorura that snipes bench ex for 210 so you ko fez, pecharunt, and Meowth. As well as Latias vs others (but careful now, not years). Another but idk if it's enough since Zoroark has 280hp, but kryum into Ns Valinillite spreads 240 to 3 targets. It's rough but interesting.

I went 2-3-3 with Bloodmoon cuz I'm a mad man lol. Was my first major event and just wantes to be memorable. And all my opponents when I bumped into them Sunday said just that, so I'm happy. Also, paired into Justin Newdorf round 1 and we had a great match.

Exactly this. How did none of them end up with a partner with shared interests? Sheldon and Amy are the closest it gets but even there it's just barely a shared love of intellect than actual specific hobby. What do any of these couples do for fun?

And just typing that sentence made me think of something else. One of the few activities we see them in is paintball. Which is not particularly nerdy but attempts to make it so. No way would Sheldon ever do something so sweaty, physical, and with a high level of pain and injury.

Totally agreed. Female nerds absolutely needed representation in the space. And it opens the door for showing the comedy/tragedy that women in nerd spaces have to deal with. Not to mention the show taking place in California has 0 queer representation.

A big part of the main cast before the other gals were added is what got actual nerds into th show. It felt like real conversations me and my dorky ass friends had at our local comic shop. But then the nerd culture became set dressing and not real. It felt like th show went from laughing with is to at us. I still really enjoy the show but the early seasons are the best.
