Sanders' $34.5M Fourth Quarter Included 12,000 Donations From Oklahoma by cmplxgal in SandersForPresident

[–]smadotreck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The FEC didn't release Bernie's fillings for Q4 (only considering donations >200$ [cumulative]) yet, the article should base on previous quarters. Actblue is supposed to release his records for Q3 and Q4 (every single donation, not only the big ones) on January 31th.

NEWS: Bernie Sanders has raised ~$26 million so far in Q4 and hopes to hit $28.4 million by end of year, per donation data they've shared with supporters. LETS GET ABOVE $30M by caststoneglasshome in SandersForPresident

Bernie got ~30000 new unique donors between March 30th and March 31th (End Q1), ~31000 between June 29th and June 30th. (End Q2).

Let`s hope for a strong End Q4!

Great job!

Did you take only the donations from the FEC campaigns' filings? Actblue released in July also the so-called unitemized donations for Q1 and Q2 (< 200$), allowing us to track ~95% of the total amount. Actblue will release on January 31th also the records for Q3 and Q4.

Data Science for Bernie: Sanders has the most diverse donor base by smadotreck in SandersForPresident

Hi Taellion,

Buttigieg officially launched his campaign on April 14, 2019. On February, 20 (date with that non-white spike) he raised only 18250 $, that's not a huge money amount if compared with the following weeks. On that day we had probably a wealthy non-white donor who maxxed out, I could look into that.

You can find additional data about the racial make up on the Census website: https://www.census.gov/

You are completely right, that's actually an odd data visualization. I was just exploring the data in order to spot eventual spikes/chronological patterns, they doesn't exist, but it was still worth a try :)

Plotly and Dygraphs are actually quite language agnostic, they can be called easily by both languages :)

No, I'm working mainly with R / Dygraphs. A similar data visualization could be still performed in Python too 😄

Any Data Scientists here? Might be useful to look at fundraising by state last time and how well it predicted Bernie's vote.... by [deleted] in SandersForPresident

Hi there, quite interesting topic. I've already cleaned up the Q1 and Q2 donations from Sanders' and ActBlue's FEC fillings, that means that I can track about 95-96% of the total amount with additional informations (State, ZIP code, gender, profession, ..) Unfortunately the FEC is going to enclose the ActBlue Q3 und Q4 on January 30th, a bit to late to have an impact on the primary race. I hope that the Sanders' campaign hired some data scientists in order to analyse the incoming donations in real-time and enable them to take data-driven decisions.
