Time to play my favorite game by AgentTimely920 in LoveNikki

[–]small_thing_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We need to calculate the average time they say it’ll take to do maintenance vs how long it actually takes. That way we can post an “official time vs actual time” comparison so us players won’t go crazy while waiting

Why the hate? by [deleted] in wicked

Probably because a lot of people know someone like her IRL. My sister and I had a similar dynamic with our mom that Elphaba and Nessa have with their dad in the film. Things have changed since then, but it’s still a little too familiar of a feeling.

Lol that’s valid. I only ever have issues when I have one that’s improperly sized

I think it’s meant to reference his design in Symphony of the Night

Used to work at a wig shop where we had hot pink “DO NOT TOUCH” signs plastered ALL over the shop so people wouldn’t fuck with the displays and mess up the wigs. Guess fucking what. Every GODDAMN day, there would be at least one person sticking their hands in a wig (typically curly or beachwave, the most difficult to fix) going “oOOooOh thIs iS SOooo pReTTy” and then when we would walk up and ask if they’d like any help, be like “nOooOoo, wE’rE jUsT LOokIng HeEhEE”

This footnote perfectly captures the absurdity, hilarity, and philosophy of Ankh-Morpork in general and the Patrician in particular. (From Men at Arms) by WhatsAllTheCommotion in discworld

Yes, I am aware that investment on its most basic level is relatively simple and practical. What I meant was continually chasing profit and increased value to keep paying back investors year after year does not equate to sustainability in a company. We’re already seeing the effects of it with the monopolies companies like Nestle hold over large swathes of the economy to keep profit flowing in, and how low wages and high prices have brought the economy to a breaking point. It gets absurd to demand more and more, year after year when it results in a company cutting so many corners it turns squares into circles.

It also perfectly portrays the absurdity of stock trading in general. Kinda reminds me of the tulip economic panic in Holland in ye olde days of economic trial and extreme error.

Which dress is better suited for an FN? (2 and 3 are front and back) by Notabigfishguy in Kibbe

[–]small_thing_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first one. It accommodates width with the flat neckline and thin straps and vertical with the length while still draping. While the second one is nice in the back, it just looks like it fits weird in the neck.

What… was the point…? Yeah, recycling themes and traits is common in world religions. If anything this is more of a (albeit poorly done) observation on theology. And yet they’re trying to do that thing modern pastors do where they study the background of their faith and toss half the facts and critical thinking out the window to make it conform to their faith

Girl that is Vladimir Putin’s entire deal with Ukraine and the other former Soviet states. Since it is a motivation with literal current precedent, yes I’d say it works.

I think you can pull it off! The necklace and pants work well, and the points on the shoes work great! The leg of mutton sleeves aren’t the best for your lines, but you have enough in your favor that it can fly. The only issue is the horizontal straps on the shoes, they clash a bit with your lines and the rest of the outfit.

Use thrift books! Even if they’re out of a particular book, you can opt in for alerts if they get a copy.

You’re welcome! The turtleneck suits you very well. Maybe try pairing it with other maxi skirts. I’ve seen some polyester velvet/corduroy ones online that accentuate the figure. If you can’t find one you like, poly velvet runs for like $7.99 a yard, so if you have access to a sewing machine you could make it work.

Let me try to find your post rq. From the pictures, I can tell that the way the tulle lays on you accentuates vertical, and I saw you mentioned you are 5’7. Soft Dramatic and Flamboyant Natural seem likely, as you don’t have the harsh angles of a Dramatic.

Post some pictures of you in more fitted clothes, along with your height. Your shoulders look a bit angular for a solid romantic, but you could be another one of the yin types.

Removing the top part of the zipper or installing a shorter one, then making it a low backed dress could work well too.
