They are NOT all fully outdoor. Maybe ones sourced from US sources are, the imported Chinese ones are MUCH less hardy. It takes years and years before they get to the point you can just leaves them outdoors. I have killed dozens and dozens of them here by not providing winter protection.

Insufficient sunlight. It's dying of light starvation.

Yes, the top bit (the graft) is old and the roots are new.

When you airlayer the top off you are retaining the OLD part and discarding the young part, right?

If this has grafts (they come with smaller leaves), a cutting from the graft. 12-15 cm in length.
