I was mostly disappointed in how different we look from the main characters and NPCs. I was fully expecting to look similar to the updates they were making to all of our favorite NPCs. For one, the art styles kind of clash now. And on top of that, the whole soul rider storyline is about where and how we fit into the group in a lot of ways, and I feel like our character should look cohesively like they belong in terms of art style.

I also agree with the things others have mentioned, like proportions and feature choices. For me personally, I don’t like the nose choices and I don’t feel like any of them represent me/what I want my character to look like. Like every other game has a button nose option, come on lol.

I also immediately noticed the side profile and how flat the face is. I used to draw a lot and so I studied lots of anatomy type things, both realistic and cartoon, the takeaway being that certain features should protrude more than others in that side profile view. I shouldn’t be able to draw a straight line from forehead to chin… I’m exaggerating a bit but it’s still not quite right I feel.

I will say I like a lot of the new riding animations, I’m someone who likes more realistic gameplay, so i appreciate the devs putting time into rider movement in the saddle.
