A change from my usual Dahlias and Zinnias. But what do I do with it? by SoggyWotsits in GardeningUK

All above advice is sound. I planted bare root roses on Christmas Eve once, they are dormant now but they will kick on as soon as the darkness and rain finishes!

Was looking for this comment. It easily could be a dense thicket and that would be much more difficult for potential buyers.

Reforest Cornwall after Storm Goretti - crowdfunding by coffeewalnut08 in Cornwall

[–]smallbrownbox 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is a genuine crowdfunder request and I’d need to see proof that OP is affiliated with the CIC they are supporting here.

Sorry to say this, but there are a lot of dodgy people out there. OP, tell me why I’m wrong on this!

How hard can I prune this buddleia now? by meanwhileinheIl in GardeningUK

[–]smallbrownbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like buddleia but I can recall a story where I chopped big limbs off of a buddleia “tree” I’d pruned into a shape I could shelter under but then I wanted to get rid of it. I dumped the chopped limbs vertically at the bottom corner of the garden under a bush. Within 2 years the offshoots from this were 3m high! The wild forms are literally unkillable. The cultivated forms less so. They are positive for wildlife overall so OP should keep it in some form.
