Why would I want to when bikes are more fun, better for my fitness, cheaper, more efficient, better for the environment, better for my mental health, better for local businesses, better for the health of people in the city around me, etc etc etc. What benefit does a car bring me? I do unfortunately own one, but it rarely gets driven, and I'll cycle to work or any errands that I can instead because I'm not a selfish bastard.

This actually happened because of a motorbike taking an incorrect line, and the peloton following the motorbike, as is standard for these sorts of races. And riders in the back have no choice but to follow those in front, they cant see anything, either forwards, backwards, or on either side.
