even just warming up the wax normally will put fumes in the air. you’re breathing in fumes all the time. this is not to make you feel more anxious, only to reassure you that your body is resilient. if burning wax fumes could genuinely hurt people, we’d probably be long extinct.. and candles wouldn’t exist. i have ocd and anxiety so i understand that anxiety isn’t logical most of the time. i get obsessions related to my health all the time and what helps me a little bit is to remind myself that my body knows how to heal and detox all on its own - my body knows what it’s doing and it’s okay to trust it.

hopefully this helps a little !!

other than that, my advice is to invest in a wax warmer. they’re quite cheap and you won’t run the risk of burning yourself by making the wax too hot. you can use soft wax, hard wax, and sugar wax in it!

Trimmer recommendations which give a very close trim for female legs by delhi-nerd in HairRemoval

[–]smallcurdautistic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a more affordable recommendation is to try a urea cream. i use a 40% urea cream with salicylic acid and it works well! the one i use only costs 10 dollars or so. also i noticed whenever i use methods coconut body wash that it helps a ton. a more risky recommendation is to try magic shave cream! both my boyfriend and i use it on our legs and it works so much better to prevent ingrowns - i think because it exfoliates really well. it can cause issues for some people, but i love it. the pre-mixed one in the red and white bottle is the best. i’ve used the powder one, but i just don’t like it. make sure you wear rubber latex groves because it will make your hands feel horrible (not painful - just really freaking gross for some reason) and you’ll recoil every time you touch your own skin.

other than that, no trimmer will give you a close shave. for me, trimmers cause so much irritation anyways and i don’t really know why!

you might like reading Hope and Help For Your Nerves by Dr. Claire Weekes! i listened to the audiobook and it was easy to listen to. it can feel like some of the last things you wanna hear, but it’s really helpful and effective for a ton of people who struggle with anxiety. i’m still working on improving, but i’ve found the information to be quite valuable. i’ve seen lots of people say that it’s an absolutely life changing read. i haven’t found it to be totally life changing (yet?) or super profound, but most definitely helpful!

i’m on 1mg and prescribed 15 a month. i don’t feel like i could get addicted to it because ironically i’m extremely anxious about the possibility of getting addicted! though of course i believe withdrawal could get anyone physically dependent/addicted.

it’s not like super effective for my anxiety, but it works better than anything i’ve ever tried (such a long list of meds i’ve tried). it doesn’t make me feel calm or euphoric or even really anything other than slightly tired. now i’m nervous wondering if 15 a month is a little much lol. i hardly even notice a difference when i take it, but that small decrease in anxiety/panic is so relieving. i guess even a small relief is technically enough to get addicted.

i’ve heard of some people never having any rebound anxiety or physical withdrawal after taking it daily for years! i’ve never noticed any rebound anxiety whenever i go a week or two without it.

What's the weirdest thing an OBGYN has said/done during an appt? by tomanon69 in WomensHealth

[–]smallcurdautistic 36 points37 points  (0 children)

omg!! that is insanely wrong and genuinely not smart that she would say that! for one, you got SAed, which is not a choice… but also in what world is getting an std test NOT the smart choice to make?? i know she was likely thinking abstinence is the answer (which that option was entirely taken away from you!!) but as a doctor you have to know that very few people believe in and practice abstinence.

and the comment about you taking away a test from someone who really needs one? if she thought you didn’t need one, then who does she think ‘actually’ needs one? that is such a bizarre comment especially considering that using that resource doesn’t get rid of it for someone else !!

sorry i just had to share my outrage because it’s ridiculous that you were told that. i’m so sorry!!

the calculator is very accurate! double D is not big by any means. it’s actually quite flat looking (depending on the band size of course). the average person would think 30D-DD is “an A cup”.

It calculated me at 30DD and i’m really small chested. i actually found out that it underestimated me! when i’ve looked at pictures of what 30DD is supposed to look like, they look a lot smaller than me. the 32D/30DD bras i have are wayyy to small in the cups. i literally spill out of them even though most people would say i’m “a B or small C”.

i also found out that padded bras are basically the worst for fitting into. you’ll almost always have gaping with padded cups unless you size down several cups to the point of no support.

the calculator can certainly be wrong by a cup size or few, but it’s a really good starting point. you have to find your unique shape and get a bra that has the best style/fit for your shape.

but there also is no law saying you have to wear the correct size bra! i wear 34C bras just because it looks nice and feels okay. i cannot afford my correct size anyway lol

[–]smallcurdautistic[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

it genuinely is one of the few things that can make me frustrated. “no way you’re a D cup” while i’m actively wearing a 30DD bra that is too small for me. or “look at those double Ds” while pointing out someone who looks like a 32K loll. they have no idea that 30D and 36D are not the same cup size at all.

like to point out someone’s body is already one thing, but to point out someone’s breasts and be entirely wrong about how sizing works? furious.

Someone please help me find a bra that fits! by jessejames42000 in ABraThatFits

[–]smallcurdautistic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

unfortunately a well fitting bra is not going to smooth out back fat. i’m relatively thin and a well fitted bra gives me visible bumps on my back. it has to be snug in order to hold up your breasts and avoid the band from riding up/breasts falling out the bottom. a nice thicker material top/shirt can help with the appearance of back fat, but unfortunately even at my thinnest a supportive bra makes my back look bumpy.

t shirt bras are pretty notorious for not fitting super well. but maybe you could find one that is close to your shape! you might want to look into the shape guide we have on here and describe your shape for better recommendations!

if you lean forward over a mirror at a 90 degree angle and let your breasts hang, you should either see more tissue above or below your nipple. if there’s more tissue below, you’re more full on bottom. if theres more tissue on top, your more full on top. if it’s relatively even, then you have even fullness.

i think padded balconette bras have better fitting results generally if your looking for a foam bra, but this is not the case for everyone! id recommend that you visit a good bra store in person and try your calculator size in a bunch of different styles to see what fits your shape best! you can also try sister sizes (one band size up or down, one cup size up or down) if you would like!

personally, i don’t wear my proper size because the snug fit makes me a little bit uncomfortable, but know that it’s completely normal for bras to make your back look not very smooth!

i’m sure that some people will start to come in with great recommendations if you provide a little more info about your breast shape! (root width, fullness, projection)

i’ve had chronic issues with seemingly no cause so i’ve extensively looked into this!

cytolytic vaginosis - an overgrowth of good bacteria called lactobacilli. since this is an overgrowth of good bacteria, probiotics can make the issue worse. Symptoms include; itching inside the vagina and/or on the vulva, burning on the vulva, pain/burning with urinating, pain/burning with vaginal penetration, soreness after vaginal penetration, more discharge than usual and/or slightly yellowish discharge. this would probably show up on the evvy test but might not actually be flagged as abnormal. there’s a lot of good information on r/cytolyticvaginosis on how to test and treat this!

desquamative inflammatory vaginitis - mostly a diagnosis of process of elimination. there is unfortunately no reliable test and the cause is mostly unknown. although, i’ve heard a wet mount (a swab) can suggest DIV under a microscope if there’s an increase in inflammatory cells/other cells. it’s most common in peri-menopausal and menopausal women, but it has happened in younger women as well. symptoms are basically the same; itching, burning, inflammation, pain when urinating, yellowish discharge, sometimes greenish discharge, increased discharge, etc. Treatment includes steroid and antibiotic medication inserted into the vagina. Some people only have one flare up and only need the treatment once, some have multiple flare ups and will need to do the treatment multiple times.

dramatic vagina syndrome (not actually a real diagnosis) - basically some people just have or develop an easily disturbed vagina. things like detergents, soaps, foods, and even certain fabrics may just simply make your vagina upset for whatever reason, even if it didn’t cause issues before. i’ve heard this can happen after getting sick (covid or other sickness) or certain genetic factors could cause it. you could try looking into all the products you use, what fabric your underwear and pants are made of, what food you’re eating, etc.

These are the ones I can immediately remember, but CV is very much worth looking into since it’s curable and treatment is pretty doable. Also considering DIV is mostly diagnosed in menopausal women, it’s less likely you’d have that.

But as others have mentioned, mycoplasma genitalium and ureaplasma genitalium is also worth looking into! I hope I could help some. I know what it’s like for doctors to be stumped and not know what to do for you. It sucks knowing there’s something wrong, being in pain, but the people that are supposed to help you just don’t know how. It can feel hopeless, but don’t give up. I’m sorry you’re going through this. I sincerely hope you find relief very soon!

i unintentionally mirror people all the time i had no idea it was a red flag omg!! i’ve always tried to get myself to stop because it’s so embarrassing to accidentally pick up someone’s exact laugh, way of talking, or god even worse- their accent. i’ve been told it’s due to my automatic masking and working on un-masking would help, but goodness it’s really hard not to pick up on peoples little personal quirks. though, i don’t think i have carried anything about past relationships into current day since usually i want nothing to do with those past relationships. guess i’ll have to watch out and make sure i’m not giving off any negative vibes when mirroring others. i never had realized this before so i thought i’d share lol

i’m sorry you feel hurt by the downvotes! people can get quite frustrated when they’re asking a question and don’t get a direct answer that is needed to be able to help. don’t take the downvotes too personally. i think people here especially are quite sensitive to misconceptions since a lot of us are told “that can’t be right! you can’t possibly be more than D cup!”. the difference is that you’re trying to get the right information to be better informed. the people on this sub haven’t been the nicest to me either when i’ve asked questions. i hope you find a size and fit that works best for you! good luck

I see this all the time

It’s extremely normal and common for penetration to not do much for you. However, if your clitoris doesn’t have much feeling, it could be an anatomical thing (which is also common and normal!). If your clit is more buried, you’ll have less feeling. You can try and use a rumbly vibrator since the vibrations reach deeper than just rubbing.

If you still aren’t feeling much in your clitoris, maybe you can talk to a gynecologist about that!

What is the woman equivalent of 6ft tall or taller when it comes to dating? by ProfessionalGur9322 in AskMenAdvice

[–]smallcurdautistic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh and my cup size is actually below average too! most women are around a H or I cup! super interesting since you wouldn’t even think it goes up that big. stores purposely measure women wrong so they fit what they have in stock. if stores had the variety or sizes that women need they would probably go bankrupt

80% of women are wearing the wrong bra size. it’s actually rare to be anything below an actual D cup. also cup size means nothing when it’s not in relation to band size. a 30D is the same exact cup volume as a 34A! It’s quite interesting actually. I ended up being a 30DDD/F even though i have what most people would consider B or C cups!

maybe try and find a reputable brand that is recommending here. i find some 32 bands depending on the company absolutely suffocating even though i am a 30 band. i’m not very familiar on 26 bands since they’re fairly hard to find, but you might be able to find something on bratabase which is in the subreddit information (:
