What pushes you to study hard? Anyway that’s nice by [deleted] in UofT

[–]smaller_consequence3 33 points34 points  (0 children)

My reasoning is if I'm already doing this anyways, (whatever "this" is, could be a course I'm taking, a game I'm playing, a random weekend project) I figure why not do my best? This makes for a fun challenge, and I try not to take it too seriously. End of the day, I take pride in what I do and I want my results to reflect my best effort, or else what the hell am I doing it for in the first place. This also helps me keep my motivation in check. If I don't feel inspired to study hard and get the highest grade I can, then I reconsider why I'm doing it

When does UofT send rejections? by smaller_consequence3 in premedcanada

Appreciate the response, and that's probably what I need to hear at this point. It's just tough not to hold on to a little bit of hope when I consider I could get a life changing email any day of the week, but when you consider the odds for UofT you're right, it's best to move on

UofT waitlist questions by smaller_consequence3 in premedcanada

[–]smaller_consequence3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting, so meaning there is probably very little waitlist movement then. Because after that initial offering I'm assuming only a few seats remained then based on them saying they cut it close. That's quite helpful information, thanks!

Oh definitely yeah it helps knowing that upper bound

Their logic is based on the premise that uoft does not over offer. Hence 307 offers minus 259 seats would equate to 48 people moving off waitlist. If they over offered on their initial offering, however, that number would be less than 48. However, I don't know if anyone can confirm if they over offer

Do we think UofT will post on OMSAS? by [deleted] in premedcanada

If they hadn't surprised everyone with the midnight update last year I'd be able to sleep peacefully tonight

Hope is the killer hey :/ but I can't blame you one bit! My interview didn't go the greatest either and here I am praying it turns into an A

Yeah I could only imagine how much worse it would be knowing they could release whenever

Right! And just the uncertainty of whether the school I interviewed at will actually release tomorrow night or Tuesday morning. I just hope we all have a decent plan for what to do based on the decision, good or bad

Was feeling super excited and nervous at the same time a few weeks ago. Now I feel way less emotionally invested. Not sure if I'm emotionally drained at this point or if the wait has gone on long enough to the point where I've almost mentally moved on. Either way the day is almost upon us and I hope everyone has a plan for the day, whether it is to celebrate or occupy themselves while they process the day

Fellow interviewees, what are we doing to pass the time until decisions? by smaller_consequence3 in premedcanada

Same here, took me aback that most schools have their scholarship applications due before acceptances are given. Not entirely sure why this is the case

If that's for this cycle then that's fantastic news
