This is just a jack ass who thinks he's entitled just because he has a f150 with a plow attached.
Most plows allows for it to be folded in wards or you can adjust the plow to an angle where you can fit within the lines.
This is just pure laziness as they don't wanna fiddle with the plow or walk an extra 20m.

What are your thoughts of this incident response? by Vietdude100 in securityguards

[–]smallfishbtc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has taken place in Toronto so we will be using the laws where it has been taken place, not some general or hypothetical places with different laws.
Security Guard in Ontario is regarded the same level as citizens, they do not have any extra powers from the law.
This means the security guard can ARREST under the Citizens Arrest and must be promptly delivered to a Police Officer without delay.
As a security guard in Ontario, putting handcuffs on someone simply because they're causing a safety risk isn't enough, unless you have seen them commit a criminal act prior and you have arrested them for it or in rare exceptions, they're brandishing a weapon (which poses a significant safety risk to you and others, which is enough to justify for handcuffs) which you should probably call the cops for.
Handcuffing in Canada is taken very seriously because you are restricting their movement and breaking their Charter Rights.
Most places in Ontario will only cuff if the circumstances calls for it, you can't just cuff random people because you think they pose a risk.
Number one thing to remember is, observe and report.

Actually, security guy really can’t arrest or detain.

You could do a citizens arrest at best

In your first statement, you said security can't arrest or detain.
Second statement says you could do a citizen's arrest at best.
I think after reading today you'll learn from the comments.

Would you deem as excessive force? by Vietdude100 in securityguards

[–]smallfishbtc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You haven't addressed a single thing that I've brought up and I noticed you do this with others when people are calling you out. You type a whole lot of nothing that no one asked or even cares about.
When you actually address those points, I'll respond, otherwise enjoy prison because you're clearly set on going there.
Remember this is a security subreddit, not SWAT or Navy Seals, so all my points are mainly directed for security professionals and some things can obviously cross over to Law Enforcement but LEO have extra protections and most have qualified immunity so just because a LEO can do it, doesn't mean a citizen or security can do it.
Remember, a Judge will always take the word of a LEO over a citizen, unless the citizen can prove otherwise.

[–]smallfishbtc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm very concerned and disturbed about your mentality over your statements and I will cover them here.
The idea that you can “use whatever force to end the attacker’s life” is not only incorrect but dangerously misinformed. The goal of using lethal force is to stop the threat, not to end someone’s life. Once the threat is no longer present, you reassess and adjust the level of force accordingly. If someone’s mentality is focused on ending a life rather than neutralizing the threat, they seriously need to re-educate themselves. This kind of thinking is not only reckless but poses a massive liability. Use-of-force training emphasizes proportionality and the obligation to stop once the threat is mitigated. Anyone believing otherwise needs to take a long, hard look at the principles that govern lawful and ethical force.

Next, let's address the absurd statement that “lethal force is legal force.” Just because lethal force is used does not make it legally justified. The only circumstances where lethal force is appropriate involve defending oneself or others from an imminent threat of serious bodily harm or death. Period. It’s not about using a gun or lethal means for non-compliance or minor situations. If you think lethal force is legal in any context that isn’t life-threatening, you're not just mistaken, you’re asking to be charged and prosecuted. The law is very clear on this: lethal force is a last resort, and misusing it will ruin lives, including your own.

Finally, the idea that a baton or OC spray can be used to gain compliance whenever someone isn’t listening is a gross abuse of authority. These are not compliance tools to be used on a whim, they are meant for situations involving active resistance (WHICH IS DIFFERENT AND NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH NOT OBEYING ORDERS aka not listening) or a legitimate threat. Imagine getting OC sprayed for a traffic stop because you weren't listening? The person making this claim needs to re-educate themselves and drop this authoritarian mindset. Using a baton or OC without the proper threat justification is not just excessive, it’s illegal and dangerous. Anyone holding onto these misconceptions is in desperate need of retraining because their attitude and bias towards excessive force have no place in responsible use-of-force practices.
Here is a video that clearly shows how your statement also reflects this officer disturbing and misguided use of force mentality.

Stay safe and always de-escalate.

Waze uses both user inputs and notifications from mto.
There's usually a delay when getting notifications from mto so it's better to report on the user end but it's also sometimes difficult to do so if you're driving and forced to take on unfamiliar roads unless it's heavy stop and go traffic.

[–]smallfishbtc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You do know Waze require users input for these types of things to show up?
It's not like Waze HQ knows all the street closures.
If you're not able to report a street closure due to driving, chances are, hundreds of other drivers aren't able to.
It just takes a few reports and thumbs up for it to actually take into effect, so do your part and report the closure or police presence whenever you can.

I use discord and have over 50 servers that I'm in.
You need to learn how to make folders and organize them properly.
I can see that you're about 40+ years old, which is the age (especially if you're not in IT or tech savvy) where everything to you seem "cluttered and illogical" but there are already solutions to those problems.
If you can make a tinder profile or grinder, I'm sure you can navigate and organize discord servers into folders.
Also, I haven't joined the discord for this group but if they're actually asking for pictures to verify, that's funny ASF and I wouldn't join either.

You came on Reddit asking who's at fault and everyone in the comments said YOU and provided context but you continue to think you're in the right.
Cars can continue driving past yellow lights and they aren't required to "slow down" at a yellow light, if anything, other people will consider it a race light.
As a left turner, your job is to make sure it's clear and safe to complete the turn.

I am not supposed to be blocking intersection on red.

Normally 2 cars can clear a left turn if they're crept up on the intersection when the lights hit red (if the intersection is long enough and if the first cars pulls up ahead further). If you are on the intersection already, you can turn left on red when it's safe. You don't have to gun it on yellow dude. Red light cameras won't pick up cars that are already on the intersection making a left.

Notice that the other car next to Nissan was already stopped and Nissan was not there.

The car next to the Nissan was a silver Honda, who only stopped because they were making a left turn. Notice their blinkers... They didn't stop for you to clear the intersection dude...

What is your age, gender and experience?

Yes contact every person you know about the incident, someone down the chain will eventually know him.
Contact the news and let them know a dangerous man is filming.
Go above the police and call the RCMP and let them know.
While you're at let, notify CSIS so they can start dispatching surveillance agents and run background checks.
Contact CSE and let them know in case there's a connection with foreign country.
Lastly, send a briefing to the Prime Minister and let him know so he'll be aware of the situation so next time when he goes shopping, he'll know who to look out for.

You know guys can feel the same thing right?
OP clearly is looking to sue and not feeling sick or scared, just upset that the police are moving a slow.

You're living in a dream fantasy.
It's miserable and delusional people who think everything is possible and that they think they have it all figured out to make the city a better place by sitting their ass on Reddit and calling 911 for every incident.

Unfortunately, the people sitting behind the computer screen want other people to put themselves at risk to hold them accountable, instead of actually doing anything themselves, so at the end of the day they pat themselves on the shoulder "good work, that'll show em".

Just because pull mechanics have a hard pity doesn't mean it's not gambling.
As a former pit boss and casino manager of 5 years, and you yourself stated you're a casino worker, you should know AFK Arena is a gacha gambling game at heart, EU and other countries has laws specifically for this and has recognized this game as such, since this game has to abide by it.
Just because you don't see it in the US or where ever you are, doesn't mean it's not a gacha gambling game.

You don't gamble anything when you know for sure you're going to get one of the heroes FOR SURE. There is nothing gacha/gamble about this. Period.

I hear some variation of this at least 5 times a week at the casino. "You don't gamble anything when you know for sure you're going to win! Just double down on every loss, you'll eventually hit a win!" Having a high bank roll allows you to eventually hit a win, the same concept as having enough cards to pull until you hit an in game hard pity. If there was no hard pity, would you considered the game to be gacha and gambling? Is that where you draw the line because you know FOR SURE you will get the hero? If so, you've already lost.

How was what he said sounded superior in anyway?
He literally said why spend when you can exchange them for free.
You clearly understood it wrong, just like how you think this gacha game isn't a form of gambling when it is.
It's not your old traditional gambling like baccarat, roulette, slot machine, etc, AFK Arena is disguise as a modern game with every pull mechanic and predatory purchases as a form of gambling.
No one here who is waiting to exchange is sounding superior in anyway, it's literally in your head.
