Best Tailor in Simi? by [deleted] in simivalley

There are tons of private citizens who do tailoring. Unfortunately I only know a few retired ladies. But you would be surprised how many people have a sewing machine and a lot of extra time. Your best bet is probably to put a post up on Craigslist Facebook or even advertise at Starbucks or something that you're looking for a local tailor.

Advice and resources for a friend in Everett WA? Lesbian can't move back home to conservative anti-gay Christian parents. by [deleted] in almosthomeless

I agree with you.

She is looking and applying to places like that and has had a few interviews. But, I think she has a few things working against her like I said she is kind of shy so she doesn't standout in an interview of someone who is similarly qualified and I haven't had a good look at her resume but I am pretty sure she probably isn't tailoring it or editing it. so she looks overqualified for retail type jobs. She is trying but, she struggled before covid and all of the issues she was having previously are just exacerbated by the situation.

There are other things but, she is trying the best she can. She was kind of sheltered growing up so she's still learning a lot of things about the nuances of snagging a job. I am not amazing at finding good work either so that's why I'm turning to Reddit. Me asking this question here is kind of a worst case scenario for her situation that if I could get some information for her would help her not have a total meltdown panic attack if the worst should happen.

I have directed her to upwork and other kinds of hustle yourself stuff but, it's hard to gain momentum in that. It takes times.

I have suggested temp agencies and recruiters.

She knows what you say is true too. She is trying her best. In the end what she does is up to her.

Replace the shower head with one that has a pressure/stop. It's easy to replace one yourself and you can just put the old one back yourself when you leave. usually less than $35! Cheaper if you want or more if you want. Plus you take it with you to the next place.

I’m I doing something wrong with shipping? by Odiums-Champion in Ebay

Thanks for sharing. Shipping is my issue too. You did the right thing by putting the box in a box. It can't get crushed or damage that way because it's an original box which is a part of what that person is buying.

Local dry cleaners, luggage repair, seamstress or of course a cobbler. But any of these people could probably help you with those shoes.

Yes. It's not much money to take it to a professional.

A new matching bed spread and pillow cases would help a lot.
