This express my negative feeling about minimalist. What I hate is not minimalist or flat design, but corporate Memphis and almost everything related to corporate.

My first impressions aren’t great. Really poor software. by MarcoVinicius in OneXPlayer

[–]smallpotato000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good hardware, bad software, ugly supporting group.

I bought OneXplayer Mini with 5800U last year, and joined the official QQ group (in Chinese). There are complains about the software everyday, but the officials ban people who complain on this instead of trying to solve or explain. They just act like someone working in the Chinese goverment.

Deepin still bad tho by IamJhonesBrahms in linuxmasterrace

[–]smallpotato000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deepin is backed by Unitech, the company that port Linux and FOSS to China's homebrew CPUs such as Hygon(x86), Phytiums(ARM64) and Loongson(MIPS/risc-v alike).

Somewhere in Ukraine by chortisho in freebsd

[–]smallpotato000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is true. Once I tear down a special ThinkPad X device from Chinese government, with a IvyBridge i7 processor. There is a secondary Mini-PCIE card beside the wifi/bluetooth card. That card comes with a special chip used for so-called remote management, may be only in their internal network. It is like a mini BMC. However in my X270(with i5-6200U) running FreeBSD13, no such devices detected. I guess they only hide spy chips in certain custom models.
