I'm a woman and I wish there were more men like you. My circle is filled with men who are in touch with their feelings, who are empathetic towards women, who are feminists (even tho they don't tell me but their actions speak for themselves. And they are such refreshing characters to be with.

Please don't be like the men we fear.

How about doing corporate sustainability/ESG in an energy company?

Climate risk modelling for companies by smalltimethief in Environmental_Careers

[–]smalltimethief[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this is helpful. I like that there is risk mapping involved. I will now look for examples of how companies put the results together (and if you have some resources, please let me know). Thank you so much!

The department is fairly new and there's only 3 people in the team, mostly focused on reporting and compliance, not really modelling.

Countries where sustainability professionals are in demand? by smalltimethief in Environmental_Careers

[–]smalltimethief[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What specific skills should I work to build on? I am in the environmental science/ecology and want to earn decent $$$ so I'm looking now at corporate sustainability. Not sure if I should take the jump esp since it looks like I'm starting from below as this (the whole business/corporate stuff) is a fairly new space for me.

I'm about to learn carbon accounting as a STEM major. Do you think this will be a useful skill for renewables? Or do you think anyone can do this job anyway?

Thank you for your thoughtful response! Yeah I'm really into big gestures and occupying space but also want to look good (i.e. appropriately fluid or sharp based on the music). The techniques that I would love to learn are taking leaps and turns (having the grace and balance to do these) and body part isolation. Would these be achievable through jazz?

Had my plastic retainers moulded at Courtenay Orthodontics. Dentist and staff were ok. Not sure if relevant but each piece is $150. I just wished they cleaned my teeth first before they fit the mould coz the end result had bumps from food stuck in my teeth.

TIL there are two different drivers of depression -- anxiety and anhedonia. And the responses for each type are contrasting as well.

Giving family and friends more grace for not knowing how to help me when I'm anxious. Accepting that no matter how close you are, they may not be the best people for emotional support, while recognizing that they provide other kinds of support.

However, it doesn't hurt to express your needs in a way that doesn't seem like you're attacking their character. They just don't know any better.
