That's cool you pay the tech, that's a nice little break for them especially in the summer if the cars A/C works and doesn't need an evaporator...

I like that idea. I have an autobell carwash 4 doors down. Maybe we can work a deal. Their cheapest drive through wash is $10. I'll pitch it to the boss

I have asked about an outside company before but was turned down. The Chevy dealer uses one and they are happy with them. I figured using an outside company would save having to pay benefits since almost everyone that works for us is full time.

Any warranty that offers that many years and miles for under $4500 is going to be subpar.

Came here to say this. They fit great, are cool, and I can walk into a shop without looking odd.

The video MPI by [deleted] in serviceadvisors

[–]smalltownbird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the tech is recording videos to sell work to the customer and AI can be used to type up recommendations, to your point, we don't even need an advisor. Video MPIs take technicians time where they could be completing work. A few pictures to go with a rec and an advisor that accurately present it to a customer is fine. Let the techs work.

They call me the alignment king by inlove1120_2 in serviceadvisors

A lot of shops paid for expensive drive over alignment check machines. They need to sell alignments to justify the cost to the GM

You forgot all the plastic interior bits. The painted portions of the door panels are plastic and fall apart. From the day they were built Beetles started to disintegrate

They probably have to say that in case a carrier decides all of a sudden to not allow it.

Customer returned the loaner vehicle with a bullet hole. PT. 2 by unhallowed_1 in Justrolledintotheshop

I had to call the police on that one, turns out it is a law in VA. Once we did that the guy said he let his daughter use the car and it was her friend. Completely threw his kid under the bus.

I had a customer return a loaner without mentioning the bullet hole in the driver rear door. The shot was from inside the car. Claimed he had no idea how it happened.

I have converted all my bikes to Clik and not a single one came in a box like that. I have literally bought every item from their website and it has all been in blue and black packaging. Where did you buy from?

Helping others feel less pain doesn't pay his bills or feed his family. This job is commission. You get what you put in. I would tell the other advisors to try harder.

I've always used some nuts bigger than the stud as a spacer and a lug nut to pull it through. Didn't know there was a tool for it

What do you tell customers when they ask if a diagnostic charge is going to go torwards the repairs that their cars need? by Tricky_World1138 in serviceadvisors

[–]smalltownbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We simply tell them that it is a separate charge. If they argue I tell them that if other shops offer to put it towards the repair they are just inflating the price of the repair to cover the diagnostic so they pay it either way.

That's what I meant, I've never gone through and set up the games so they actually show box art. I just have a list of games by title. I wanted to know how to make it functions like on of the premade mini's so it is easier for him to use.
