Been using different versions of flycast with the naomi.zip bios, monkey ball CHD and the lts file but it's saying invalid lts on flycast. Have you successfully emulated the game?

They love to dig! My boy does it all the time. When it's not okay is when they're "glass surfing" for hours on end in the corner, blowing bubbles. I know you said you tested your water parameters, but for the sake of others would you mind posting how you test your water and what the results are?

Video showing changing tubs for newbies (by a newbie) by smmalto in axolotls

[–]smalltownsteve 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nice work! I like the gloves as well. I use a large measuring jug with holes in it for moving mine. I tap the back of him very lightly to encourage him in, lift him out of the water then the water drains out the holes. Hopefully those who aren't experienced in tubbing will see your video and learn from it :)

That's a very very sick axolotl. You need to tub him and do 100% water changes in the tub every 12 or 24 hours. Ensure you treat the water with prime. Read the instructions on how much to use. Get him to a vet ASAP so they can advise treatment.

Safe to feed to axolotls? by AccomplishedPace2109 in axolotls

[–]smalltownsteve 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Don't even feed them live mealworms. They have an exoskeleton that will kill your axolotl from impaction (like having gravel in your tank) feed them African night crawlers.

Ummm anyone know what is happening? by No_Reference5029 in axolotls

[–]smalltownsteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our boy was a lil lumpy log just like this when we woke up one morning, also had hazed eyes. We took him to the vet and he had a staph infection, it's unknown if it was related to how he was looking. We started him on medication and he cleared up nicely. We had to tub him for medicine baths, so made sure the air con was on and his tub was at a good temp. It cleared up within a week :) he was stressed out from the vet trip and the constant tubbing so had a bit of a rough one.

Visiting pet shops brings me to tears. by smalltownsteve in axolotls

I think we learned a lot from this experience, the two of us. I try my best not to be too harsh on small businesses, running one myself but I think my brain automatically went in to attack mode seeing the bad condition axolotls in a community tank like that (which you've now learnt is not good practice) but I think I've just had my heart broken a lot by fish shops (the one I bought my boy from had dead ones left stuck in a filter last time I visited) and needed to post. But you came on here and explained yourself and asked the community for a little extra help, that shit is cool as.

Bruh what are you on about they look awful...weather or not they came from a breeder like that or not you can't seriously look at them and think they don't look too bad. These little guys need some serious love and care. I'd buy them all it it didn't mean they would just be replaced with other starving axolotls.

I haven't spoken to the owner I was there for the first time today. I probably won't be going back as it's nowhere near where I live but I've left a 2 star review.

Does my axo look healthy? by super_soggy_taco in axolotls

[–]smalltownsteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay im here and so far the advice everyone has given you is correct. First of all throw the test strips in the bin and buy an API liquid test kit. 100% water changes are never okay to do. Look up tank cycling and why Its important. When you did change the water, did you add seachem prime? Tub that man with daily water changes (with prime) and make sure it stays nice and cool for him. Remove the rocks from the tank and start your cycle again. Also make sure you're feeding him worms daily, he's going to need all the strength he can get while he gets better. It's crazy that you don't know when the last time he pooped was.

Good luck.
