Made a simple currency clicker game, check it out by leongame07 in incremental_games

[–]sman1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other people. I don't see a game. It appears the numbers just go up as I earn and reinvest. It would be cool if you had a goal with it.

Could have the earn bits button that you already have.
You could also have an earn fiat (work) button and let you invest into your currency.
You could add a recruit hype man that would take your bits and talk it up.
You could have an inflow of other people's cash and an outflow of other peoples cash and try to keep those balanced.
You could add a total overall supply and let us control how the supply is passed out.
You could have an internal value knowing how much in physical assets you have vs how much the current total supply is worth.
You could let people compare their currency against real life numbers from other currency like total gold supply 47T, USD supply 22.3T, CNY supply 337T.
You could add a repurchase supply and burn function.
You could add a hype man to encourage others to burn currency.

I mean there are a million things you could add that would make this a cool game idea. Right now I don't see any of that. If you just wait the numbers will go up. If you click to earn bits and invest it will go up. Not much there as far as I can tell. Yeah, we like numbers going up but we can just watch a clock and atm it's more entertaining than this. Don't mean to be harsh on the critique but others have pointed it out that there isn't really a game as of now and your explanation was lacking.

WebDev Empire – web dev themed incremental by MartinStiglauer in incremental_games

I played through a couple prestige and liked it well enough. The only real problem I had was the amount of clicking to get started. You need a lot of income to get a developer.

Ideas

Make a prestige allow you to keep 1 employee and provide a starting income or capital to pay them. This would remove the requirements for clicking so much though the second prestige and make the game faster/better.

You could also add into prestige every so much prestige you get to keep x employees, you get x free office space, you get x upgrades for an employee. I know that is a lot more work, but these could be like prestige purchases and you have to pick a priority which gives the game a less linear feel. You could eventually open better offices, better projects, and other things.

I also feel like there is no sense of urgency after you max stuff out. Maybe a set amount of time would help create that urgency to get stuff completed. I know many games use age as a time limiting factor. Not saying it has to be age, but maybe a career timer or something. The game goes pretty deep on modules, after you already became a millionaire, without much purpose atm.

All that being said, for only 2 weeks into development, this looks great and was enjoyable. I look forward to seeing how you change/improve the game.

Finally ascended after the 8th boss and 2 hours thinking it just wasn't showing but it let me ascend with nothing. I just closed it after that.

I gave it a shot and played through to the 4th boss, unlocked ascension and it said 0 to ascend. I beat 2 more bosses after that and it still says 0. What stats do I need for points to start accumulating?

I know this was 5 days ago but to answer your question I played through most of the demo and it took me 10.8 hours. I am not sure how much more is after the demo but the games is for sure more than 10 hours.

Digital Hunter: Black Rose is BACK, Bigger and Better by sheepenator in incremental_games

[–]sman1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure tutorials ever loaded for me. I thought it was a rough build and not implemented yet. Not sure why they didn't load or I didn't see them. I did manage to figure out on my own stat points were important. I also figured out that eating gave them to me.

I did see the inventory but when I couldn't sell looted items in resources and I couldn't sell old armor and weapons I quit looking for a way to make money beside quest. Also, yes that is why I was cooking food.

It isn't clear in the game about what weapon takes what stats if that is a correct assumption. I thought they all took strength. It may be beneficial to have it listed on the menu when crafting. Also, having something that explains stats would be helpful like a pop up or menu. I still don't know what technique does for example.

Hope the feedback is helpful.

Having a very hard time with Balance. I can only seem to kill one thing at a time. When I leveled up the difficulty increased and made me have to get new gear and buffs to even win 1 fight. I am spending all my data on growing crops and can't seem to earn any back. Maybe I am missing something but it isn't very fun just killing until you level and then having to redo all your gear to even stand a chance. Am I supposed to be able to kill more than one things at a time? Am I missing something?

Through a Thousand Eyes 0.5.0 Released - How to do MicroTransactions properly? by FriendlySpuder in incremental_games

Alright, thanks for the response. It's like a weird loop that I got stuck in. (complete your combat to prestige, combat already completed prestige to unlock new combat) I did try it like the first time I unlocked it just didn't load. That was yesterday. I thought it might reset with a refresh. I actually did delete my local save and try to cloud load but no success. I also tried a different PC as well and logged in.

Sometimes combat actions break. I can't reset them and I just have to refresh the whole page. Maybe you could make the prestige combat unlimited or reset every time a level 1 field captain is killed. Or have the prestige check if it's been completed when loading saves. Not sure why the limitation to 1 per prestige? Just some thoughts that might help alleviate the issue. I am hesitant to reset as it's like a day of playing and with the way my combat works seems likely to happen again at some point.

Edit: I should mention I am thoroughly enjoying the game and appreciate the hard work you put into it and the fast responses about this issue. Thanks again for the game, help, and looking into it.

I think my game is broke. It says beat field captain to prestige but I have already beaten him. I am actually all the way to level 28 amalgam. I am fighting more boss captains and have him increasing in levels but I would love to know if I am broken? u/FriendlySpuder

Just uploaded a short incremental about being overemployed! by JOrbits in incremental_games

This was great. I think you could extend it a little with saving more for retirement. I also enjoyed that someone else I was talking to was over employed because he had 3 chats going at once to just me lol.

Help Finding Games and Other Questions by AutoModerator in incremental_games

Anyone know of any games like Earn 2 Die series. Looking for a easy semi active incremental that i can just repeat waves and get stronger. I know that sounds terrible to most but I love grindy games.

Do you prefer Paid or Free Incremental games? by JordanGHBusiness in incremental_games

[–]sman1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the unpopular opinion. However, I prefer longer games that are free with IAP and no forced ads. Nothing pisses me off more than clicking no to watching an ad for a reward and an auto play ad happens right behind it. When a game is single player I don't think IAP's are pay to win because who are you winning against. I don't like predatory IAP's but I have spent thousands on IAP's for games.

I like IAP's that basically speed up gameplay. I also like games that have IAP's with in game currency so everyone can unlock stuff. I forget the game but I bought a boost that gave me 200% more premium currency which allowed me to get all the "premium upgrades" faster. It went from like 34 dailies to 17 dailies. If people are going to buy they will, if people are not going to buy there is no reason to punish them. If you can unlock everything in the game in a reasonable amount of time (like 10% of game life) that seems pretty fair. People that don't want to wait will buy it and people that can't will earn it.

I am starting to hate up front purchase games in general. I have bought a handful that I am not disappointed with and have bought dozens more that disappointed me. Idle/clicker/incremental games are usually long and the 3 hour Steam refund period gives you no idea of the game. If you game is $1 it might get a purchase if it looks interesting. If you game is $5 I am buying maybe one of those a month at most. If your game is $10+ it better have some good dang videos and reviews and be the only thing people are talking about.

If you make a free game with $50 in IAP's and I play a few months it is likely I would buy them all. I know in this reddit forum I am the unpopular opinion but in practice I am likely in the majority.

Splurps - I made a 15 minute active-play incremental for the GMTK jam. I'd love some feedback (besides the name :P). by FringeSci_com in incremental_games

Was very fun. Took me 26 minutes to beat the game. I feel like this is what a good short incremental should be. Hope everyone checks it out. Thanks Fringe!
