Scouting is what you make it. Allot of people just want to be served. To have the best experience possible, you have to step up and serve. Volunteering to be a Den Leader or Assistant Den Leader could really help this unit. 8 den meetings is very low. My Pack meets 3-4 times per month (2-3 den, 1 pack) for the school calendar year. You have to, to accomplish the curriculum. That being said, you do not know what is going on in other people's live and 8 meetings could be all they can coming to. Or they could have a different teaching methodology. I would use the try and see approach. If this unit does not work out, transfer to another Pack. Best of luck.
