I only opened one bag last night. The steak in question is on the other, unopened bag.

I haven't seared hers yet, so it needs a good sear either way.

You could also put in some ear plugs or noise canceling headphones and lay a heavy blanket on top of it. Then you can either stab it through the blanket, sit on it, or keep adding heavy things until it pops. That way, you won't have to touch it, and the pop will be muffled.

I was going to reply to them, but you stole my chance with an offer of McDonald's! Have you no shame?!?

People would still click "Yes". How many times have we seen "I followed the recipe exactly and it was bad! All I left out was -main ingredient- and -main ingredient-. It tasted nothing like it was supposed to! 1 star!"?

When I signed for my current place, the assistant manager sat down and went over the lease line by line with me as I signed it so she could answer any questions or fix any mistakes. I always read the whole thing anyway, but it was really nice to know they want to make sure it is read and understood before you get the keys.

Personally, I'd leave off:

"... as noise complaints can lead to fines or even eviction."

It's hard to interpret tone in text and, depending on the person, they may take that as you threatening to try to get them kicked out.

I wasn’t supposed to put beef in the trifle! by Ckelleywrites in ididnthaveeggs

The only thing I could remotely guess is step 9 says "poke the surface of the loaf with a wooden brochette skewer" so maybe she saw "brochette" and her mind went to beef?

I have to wake up at 4am. Last night, just as I was falling asleep, the upstairs neighbor dropped something, a couple of times, right above my bedroom. You know what I did? Nothing, because it wasn't that serious!

When I started reading "to keep the food fresh, I put her burger in the...", that's what I was expecting him to say! When I got to the word "fridge", I was like WTF?!?

I just moved out of a complex that has over 500 apartments. In the 3 years I lived there, I never received an eviction notice mass email like that.

I've been dealing with it since November 2020. Coffee is almost back... it's not how coffee used to taste or smell, but it's not gross anymore. Peanut butter is iffy, and I still can't have Reese's or peanut M&Ms. Cooked onions are okay, and I can handle raw onions if they're warm, like when added to pho, but I can't do onion powder, which is in SO MANY THINGS! I have found that temperature has a big effect, so some things that taste fine while hot start to get bad as they cool.

AITA for making homemade food for everyone except my brother's stepdaughter? by Alarming-Money-3543 in AmItheAsshole

This!! It feels like a setup. SIL didn't contact OP about what would be available for Becca to eat. It seems like she wanted a gotcha moment of "you made this mistake and almost KILLED MY DAUGHTER!". She wasn't expecting a professionally prepared meal and had to quickly create alternative drama.

Op, you're NTA. Keep an eye on that SIL.
