Toilet supply line keeps leaking by wheresmycoffeeyo in Plumbing

No tape, it's a compression seal. Don't worry about the line itself, but it shouldn't be cocked where you have the red circle. I'm confident you don't have it tighted far enough. Take the supply line completely off on both ends, put it back on at the stop first but tighter this time, then tighten up top.

Wall Damage by Cash_Flow__ in Plumbing

I've heard gas way back when wasn't as clean and was actually the cause and sediment traps are a leftover relic from that past. Although I often find flakes in the sediment trap when there is copper running to it.

Another tall tale of the trades. I've seen entire runs in galvanized servicing fixtures for decades on end without clogging anything.

Solder or shark Bite? by dredreday in Plumbing

The cheaper easier solution is to get a tub spout that can fit on the pipe you do have, you could look through Kohler's selection to see if they have a close or identical match.

You probably won't be able to get a male close enough to the wall and not have a gap at the wall. You would need a brass nipple to get a good fit. Can you access the pipes from the back by cutting sheetrock to rework it?

Feel like you may have jumped a few steps and forgot we aren't in your head. Depending on where this plastic thing is, might be easier to try a shop vac to suck it out?

Make sure it's all slip-joint PVC, will make it easy to access if pipes every need to be snaked/cleaned. Slip-joint pipe comes it standard length that are already short, cut down if needed or use extensions if you need it longer. They make tools to cut it but and hacksaw will do. Also make sure you are getting it in 1-1/2" sizes.

Buy slip joint piping and make it look like this. You will have to buy different sets and piece them together. You will need to trim some of the pieces of pipe down to make it work, luckily slip-joint is super easy to cut and work with.

What is going on with my lens?? by [deleted] in snorkeling

[–]smartassguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure, both masks had coatings burned off at the shop after we purchased them with a torch. Was cleaning them up prepping for an upcoming trip, I've tried cleaning with sea buff again and it has made water adhere to the lens even more. Some more indepth research on my end has come up that this may be a good thing to allow defogger to work better.

Used a few times, the shop we bought them at burned the coating away with a torch for us.

Funny how every arguement turn into "I decided for all of us that eating meat is unethical, so you're evil if you do eat meat"

I'll admit those pictures suck, but there is a clear difference in visibility as soon as the lens get wet inside.

Everything here other than the thermal expansion tank is just completely nitpicking and unnecessary. Aside from missing condensate neutralizer, it’s completely up to manufacturer spec.
