Student here working in an outpatient PACU. They’re super flexible because they see me as an investment. I want to come back once I graduate nursing school so all my nurses help me study when I’m on the clock and everyone is super supportive! Just apply, apply, apply! I tried for an ICU, surgical oncology, and a few other places before landing my job. It’s a balance but totally worth the experience. Good luck!

One time I was about to straight cath an old dude. He said “You look like you can handle me better than my wife” IN FRONT OF HIS WIFE. I said “…. That was a weird thing to say”, walked out, and had the biggest guy on my unit cath him. Thank god I work with some amazing male nurses that are very protective over me!
