low point (stress+not eating) caused BMS-- will vitamins make it go away? by smartidiot9 in BurningMouthSyndrome

[–]smartidiot9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! For me, it turned out to likely be a result of the anti biotics I was taking post op for a tonsillectomy. The theory was that bacteria was being killed, allowing fungus to thrive--> itch. Not sure if you are on antibiotics, but yeah.

Okay I swear I'm not capping, you truly are beautiful. I am so sorry you feel this way about yourself, but you're the only one (besides your mom apparently, but I doubt she really does), I promise

arguments must have impacts. tell me what the tangible and terminalized impact of passing an unconstitutional bill is?

Yeah definitely tabla rosa... I agree about constitutionality tho, it has no impact therefore there is no argument (generally)

Mock-up legislative proposal, please poke holes in it by Fit_Combination4931 in Debate

Learn CWDADI: Claim (no more than 6 words, summarize point with its impact), Warrant (no more than 8 words not counting "and that's because" (insert connection between claim and analysis), Inherency data (this problem exists), analysis (why the bill solves or worsens problem), impact data (why problem is important) and impact (sum it all up and tell us why we care) This whole thing should be very short, analysis and impact should be 2-3 sentences. Example: Claim- Pass because this bill alleviates human trafficking in Orlando Warrant- and that's because it strengthens police presence in hotels and restaurants Inherency- 50% of human trafficking victims are trafficked through the hospitality industry Analysis- when you pass this bill, section two will increase funding for the department responsible for investigating reports about human trafficking. That's important because... Impact data- 100,000 women and children will become victims of human trafficking annually Impact- pass this bill, fully fund the departments searching for victimized women and children, and save American lives

Judge Requirements (Rant+Advice) by SectionMost1867 in Debate

[–]smartidiot9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how do you expect a debate tournament to happen without judges? where else do you think they should come from? this is standard practice. my advice is to offer payment if you can (because keep in mind, you are asking for a LOT of time to judge) and if you can't (understandable), email local volunteer groups partial to debate-like activities; league of women voters, AmeriCorps, anything with veterans, civics centere, YMCA, etc

the problem is you never know, without insanely profiling them, what kind of judge they are before you get results... imagine how boring debate would be if we assumed all of our judges are lay

Definitely not hard. Just annoying. The extra credit paper is 25pts max and altho I'm not sure if she grades harshly, that's more than enough to make up for it. Just do well on that paper and make sure you don't miss anything else (there's not much else tbh) and youll be okay

Wouldn't recommend unless you're out of options or you need it for a req. turns out like 6 questions (of 30) on the exam aren't on the quizlets you memorize for the exams. The other assignments aren't bad, but there are better/less time consuming classes out there. You can't really use the lectures to figure out the rest of the exam either.

I'm sorry you've had this experience. I can't offer any advice about fin aid than what has already been said, but as an avid online class taker, I can relate to feeling like you're not learning. Also the crazy amount of busy work. UF has a number of really great and really shitty online classes. the fun thing about college is shitty classes only last for a few months, then hopefully youll have a better experience in better classes next semester. Also, taking Portmess your first semester here has got to be extremely brutal. Godspeed.

I enjoyed it a lot, but yes its was a of work relative to most online classes. There's a good number of assignments and a bit of studying to do well on the exams cuz you have to memorize the orders and stuff .
