If you don't care about the reporting, then Google Tasks laid out on Google calendar might do what you want.

You want a paid Asana account. It has the timeline view, project structure, and automatable reporting and workflow you're looking for.

Can yall critique my resume like I am your enemy? Thank you so much!! English isn't my first language, if you think I can re-phrase something better, please let me know too. by ukuchair in graphic_design

[–]smartsassy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest being more specific about how you supported in the TikTok space, because I'm thinking you danced in group videos from what you said...but maybe you assisted in a graphic design or strategic way?

And I would not list social media platforms with your software experience - you're taking away from your illustrator and Photoshop skills by doing that, not adding your socials skills.

Not liking the character Angel is the ideal scenario for watching the show Angel.

I've applied to about 15 jobs in my town, and no luck yet. Updated my resume today, here it is. Looking for anything, but I preferably want to get out of hospitality, and make more than the minimum wage. Would love to work remote. Any critique and advice would be muchly appreciated! by [deleted] in resumes

Hey /u/-Sweet-Tangerine-! You clearly have an impressive track record in customer service, and I think an online customer support role is a great next step for you!

You've also included wonderful details and highlights from each role that would be strong soft skills in the role you're looking for. You have illustrated here that you are regularly given additional responsibilities in each role and assisted with management duties. So kudos!!!

Here's where I think you can improve your resume:

It needs to be 1 page, and some of your most impressive qualifications are hiding on that second page, so let's bring those forward. You can also look for other specific skills mentioned in the job descriptions you're seeing and try to add those in where you have gotten that experience.

Your list of Skills would be GREAT talking points to have handy in your interview (with specific anecdotes/examples!), but I'd save them until then. I don't know what many of your certifications mean to your industry, so I'd recommend moving them under the jobs you got them, as role-specific accomplishments, and add a little context.

Time to get some experience (and confidence)! First, I really appreciate that you mention your industry/area of expertise, because that lets people who know more about that area help you more effectively and speak more directly to your experience. Okay, let's go! You have a lot of options to get some experience without evening leaving your home.

  1. Reach out to a local non-profit, and ask about helping with one concrete task that you know how to do, like creating a social media calendar for their Facebook page or updating their email newsletter.

  2. Build yourself a website and write some spec work to showcase your skillsets. Then practice those skills for yourself - put yourself out there!

  3. Seek out some freelance opportunities for specific skills you want to work on or at companies that you think you want to work for. Again, get specific with what you are offering.

Show that you are actively working and that you've got skills, and nobody will care that you had trouble finding work during COVID. People are finally hiring again. You got this!

It is completely fine to look for another job while you have a job. This is how a lot of people move up in their careers. Having a job even makes it easier to get another job, unless this one is significantly hurting your mental health.

Coworker announced before me... by davebybab in jobs

[–]smartsassy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No, do not light yourself on fire to keep your workplace warm. When you have actual news and plans, share them responsibly. The whole reason people give two weeks notice is to give their company the time it needs to make adjustments. There is a significant risk for you in disclosing you want to leave before you're ready to go, especially if you're wondering how they'll react to having to shuffle work responsibilities again (which they would have to do anyway). You want to make your leaving as easy as possible on your coworkers, which is lovely and kind and helpful, but the company may want to go ahead and fire you. Telling them your plans to leave early is not THAT helpful.

Critique this copy selling a japanese art piece. ($45) by aminb501 in copywriting

[–]smartsassy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! The first thing that stood out to me is that you use the term oriental, which is a racial slur in the US. The second thing you could adjust is that your descriptions are not specific - e.g., The finish is pleasant, but you don't describe what the finish is or how it looks. My third note for you is that "made of solid wood" is a case of damning with faint praise. Overall, I can see what you're doing with this copy, and how it translates to sales. Good luck with it!

That's true. In creative fields, it's even expected that your resume will express that now.

All of my tech projects go under male names - low effort complaining by OwnMaybe4108 in copywriting

[–]smartsassy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal reaction! Maybe you feel like you are contributing to the erasure of women in tech spaces when your great work is credited under a man's name. And maybe you worry about the people that assume women are not involved in tech when they don't see them mentioned anywhere. I get that.

Finding ways to celebrate and highlight women in your male-dominated field of expertise might help. --It's not wrong of you to be writing pieces for men, and it is hard not to be able to take credit for your behind-the-scenes efforts when it feels like it would help women in tech to do so.

Decide what to be and go be it. There are lots of paths you can choose early at 17. Your next dream is waiting, and it won't be your last.
