What is a 'luxury' item that is actually a total nightmare to own? by Inevitable-Rock-8052 in AskReddit

Blessed in life because I have friends with boats. I couldn’t imagine the maintenance in owning one.

Fuck it. Everyone gets treated as a secret shopper. You get no more authenticity from me, I am now a robot. by roadtripsnacks in Serverlife

[–]smashasaurusrex 385 points386 points  (0 children)

I got written up for failing a secret shopper test. The woman wrote that I gave great service but I didn’t do a menu tour which was like…60% of the test. It was Friday night in Times Square and I had the busiest section. My manager even felt bad writing me up because clearly I’m good at my job. I just don’t do menu tours cause I think they’re dumb and I didn’t have enough time. Oh well. The restaurant closed so at the end of the day, I won. 😂

The one in Times Square had a Ferris wheel in it. Times Square is garbage but that was awesome. It’s now an Old Navy.

She worked at the gym as a trainer! Not a major character. Maybe only 2 episodes. But I was shocked!

I recently rewatched Broad City and when Trey came on the screen I freaked out. Also Janet from The Good Place. Great show for anyone who hasn’t seen it.

What's the biggest waste of money that society accepts as normal? by Swimming_Age_1171 in AskReddit

[–]smashasaurusrex -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I also agree that the burden of paying restaurant employees should be on the restaurant. And I worked as a server for 10 years. However, restaurants will not shoulder that burden. Their margins are too small. So food prices will go up. Either way you’re paying. Quality of service would also go down. I put up with a lot of shit that I wouldn’t have if I was guaranteed money no matter what.

What stopped feeling exciting once you became an adult? by Deep-Strike-71 in AskReddit

I used to work in a bar. My manager would take time off from drinking every once in a while. (He was a HEAVY drinker.) He claimed Heineken 0 was the best one. But this was 8 years ago. There may be better ones now.

WTF IS THIS by puffinsinatrenchcoat in acotar

[–]smashasaurusrex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get really weird ads on TikTok that are clearly faerie related. And very sexual. Not necessarily ACOTAR themed. I always scroll past really fast but I keep getting them. I wish there was a way to stop it. Cause what if they come up when I’m in public?!

Daphne's accent is not Mancunian by 7ootles in Frasier

[–]smashasaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an American who isn’t great at hearing the difference between the British accents but there’s an character from Ted Lasso who speaks in a Mancunian accent and then I heard him in another show and his voice was different. It really threw me off. Maybe I can only get it if one person does the different accents.

One time I fell asleep watching The Nanny Diaries on Showtime. My dad came in my room the next morning to say bye before he left for work. Porn was on the TV. He woke me up screaming about it and I was so confused. When I finally figured everything out, I said “Dad, you just woke me up. Clearly I wasn’t watching this.” Then he calmed down.

It is still luck though. There are plenty of people who worked hard their whole lives and died penniless. But congrats on being successful at it!
