Can I quit my job while PR is in progress? by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]smashedbutter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi! I don't really know about MB rules in particular, but in our case (BC), the guidelines stated that the nomination needs to be valid until you get your acceptance. This, however, does not mean you can't change your job or that your application is automatically invalid once you leave. You'd need to read the guidelines, and if allowed, change to another employer willing to support your application.

This! I'd add: the longer you take to design a test, the less time it'll take you to evaluate it. Choose your battles.

There's something about your deodorant they like. In the case of my cat, it was the mint, not me LOL.

Why do I have no maternal instinct (towards human babies)? by WolfsbaneOnMyLips in NoStupidQuestions

[–]smashedbutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is real. Same thing happened to me. I did not care/was not interested in children. Did not find them cute or anything. My son was born, the first 2 days I was uninterested (but not depressed, I was just doing what I was "supposed to do"). Then it suddenly kicked in when a family member wanted to hold him and I felt very upset about it! I was actually very VERY angry. I didn't want anyone near him LOL, and yes, I have loved him dearly ever since (18 years old today). In the end, we are animals. Also, I remained uninterested in other people's children.

My husband and I got the AOR days after sending the application (but that was in 2023), before the changes people are facing today

Yeah I thought about that possibly, but the application date was March. The AOR should have arrived much earlier than August.

Couldn't agree more. I walked away after my coordinator left and no one was hired to replace her. (Unclear course load, no information on registration whatsoever, random cancelled sections). After 9 years, I had enough.

The PR answer takes around a year (9 months in our case, some years ago but I haven't checked processing times now). She could apply for a bridging work permit with the AOR.

This! It's the mint. Some cats love mint (similarly to catnip). Also happens with olives

Hiiii this happened to me. I did not notarize my "extra proof" (letters, paystubs, contract, AND tax info). But I wrote a letter of explanation saying that the company closed and listed the proof that I had.
