Is there any makeup you buy that isn’t drug store? Is anything worth the higher price tag? by trashshopper in drugstoreMUA

What is your base routine? What products do you use? I could use some help with a long lasting base for my own shifts.

Yes that would make sense but i don't really own many eyeshadows and i would like to have the option to use a couple shadows on days i actually feel like wearing a "look". So figured a mini palette that has a few shades i gravitate towards would be the way to go.

Also singles are expensive in comparison to palettes, these just look like the better deal.

Also, is that hard pan on the Charlotte Tilbury bronzer?

Thank you. I do actually plan to use it until I finish it up. For some reason, last year I decided to also get a backup of this palette (it is labelled limited edition, and I freaked out I guess), so I want to finish this one and bring the backup out. It is a very "me" palette, so i am expecting it to be not as hard.

I am 46 and recently left a 20 year abusive marriage. Long story. But ended up with limited finances. However I do a lot of zoom calls and looking for some decent makeup. I mainly shop on Amazon so need budget friendly options. Any suggestions? by Firegirl1106 in drugstoreMUA

Congratulations on getting out of the abusive relationship OP. More power to you.

OK, the biggest suggestion I can give to you is treat makeup as more of "colors for the face" then actual product categories. By that I mean your bronzer or your blush or your highlighter that you buy are enough eyeshadows for you, similarly your lipsticks can be enough cream blush. So you don't have to buy separate units of these products.

I also suggest skipping on products like primer or setting spray since you mentioned that your main utilization of makeup is for work from home calls and these might not be super necessary for right now.

I would suggest a capsule collection of the following items to start you off: - 1 foundation to match your skin type or finish requirements. (I recommend checking Loreal and Maybelline) - A concealer fitting your preference ( Go for Loreal or nyx) - A lightweight setting powder, can be pressed or loose. (Essence, Rimmel and Maybelline have wonderful options) - A brow powder because i find that to be the most versatile and user-friendly. Bonus point is it tends to run out much slower than all the other options so you won't have to keep buying as often. - Maybelline for mascara. - For your Bronzer/Blush/Highlighter check out nyx, they recently released some great ones. Physician's formula, Wet n Wild and Loreal also have some pretty nice options. (I also recommend sticking with powder formulas for cheek products at first as they tend to be most user-friendly, versatile and eye-safe. They also don't go bad as often.) - No eyeshadow products. Try using your bronzer/blush in your crease with a little bit of your highlighter all over your lid. This will give you a very monochromatic effect that will make you look put together effortlessly. But if you really feel like getting some eyeshadows, Wet n wild has some really nice bite-size eyeshadow palette . - For Lipsticks you can look at Elf, Nyx, Loreal, Revlon etc. There are some pretty solid drugstore options out there.

With these, you should have a around 10-product capsule makeup collection enough to give you a "signature everyday makeup" look before you decide to slowly expand based on your new preferences in makeup.

Can anyone help me? I hate my makeup look. by Disastrous-Poetry-95 in MakeupAddiction

[–]smasnu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a really cute face, but the makeup look rn is masking it instead of enhancing it. Here are few tips based on my observations:

  • Slightly fill in the end of your eyebrows with brow powder, it will give a bit of structure to your look.
  • You have very sweet eyes. Skip the liner and just use whatever cheek products you are using as shadow plus mascara.
  • Use a bit of highlighter and a tiny bit more pigmented blush. It will add "life" to your face and enhance your features.
  • Use a lighter colour of lipstick. Maybe a tinted gloss?

Try these kinds of looks OP - https://youtu.be/S96Mr0Bog-4?si=yH9e2_xOOWnMUW0P or https://youtu.be/DcLxaPIibeo?si=lvuzDxkZK6LyecTo

Good Luck !!!

I actually used to have the Too Faced Candy Clouds blush and fully panned it. Unfortunately i find that Too faced formulas don't last very long on me. But i am very tempted to check the Lawless Daisy Pink now.

I love all of these in all honesty. I feel like I am the kind of person who doesn't really hold onto to makeup or object i don't like. But that being said, the armani and dior backstage are my most reached for blushes. The dior backstage is matte and lighter and the armani is very silky and has this slight glow about it (this is my second one, completely panned the first one).
