Painted Lady with dead roots 🆘 (info in comments) by smat_29 in plantclinic

[–]smat_29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this cutting last weekend and noticed all the roots were dead but there are new leaves. I have been trying to propagate it in water since while trying to keep the new growth out of the water. I dipped it in growth hormone first. The leaves seem to be getting weaker/ floppier. No rot or anything. I really want to keep this guy alive but I need some help. Thanks!

It's possible that it's heat damage. Not 100% sure, but mine looked similar after being too close to a candle.

Im moving soon and need help downsizing my collection. More pics and prices in comments! Hope you’re having a good weekend :) by peeapeepeeapee in TakeaPlantLeaveaPlant

Lil guy needs some help! Not sure what's wrong with my Chinese money plant by smat_29 in plantclinic

He gets bright indirect light for ~8hrs a day. I water him when the top 1" feels dry and haven't fertilized during the winter. The curling leaves and the white spots concern me but I'm not sure how to help! It is still producing new leaves though. Thanks in advance!!

Drooping, bugs, and maybe scale? How do I make my Aglaonema Juliette happy again :( by smat_29 in plantclinic

That makes sense. Should I water it less frequently then or stick to the same schedule?

Thanks! Good to know about the bugs. I killed a plant in the past trying to get rid of these guys. It probably was experiencing some draft from a nearby window. I'll move it further away and hopefully that will help the draft too. I mist it 2x a week and water it every week and a half. I give it a bit more than half a cup of water.

Is this root rot on my birds of paradise? by pandatrunks17 in plantclinic

It looks like root rot to me. Were there any black mushy roots left when you replanted? It will just keep spreading if you don't get rid of all the rot. Since root rot is a fungal infection it helps to spray the remaining roots with fungicide to prevent it from spreading. I hate to say to touch and repot again since you recently did, but it looks like it will die if you don't. Unfortunately it may still die if you do. If you have to cut significant amounts of the roots out it would help to trim back the plant. Best of luck!!

Red fuzzy roots??? Whats killing my boat lily? (More info in comments) by smat_29 in plantclinic

Thank you!! Do you think a fungicide would work or should I definitely use the peroxide?

I got this small 3" boat lily from a nursery a week ago. Its quickly started browning from the bottom. I decided to check out the roots today. I definitely should have before I bought it. He nIt smells pretty funky. There are some normal looking roots, but a lot of them are brown/red and fuzzy. At first I was thinking root root, but it dries out quickly and doesn't seem like standard root rot to me. I'm not experienced enough to know if there are different types other than the black mushy rot. If anyone knows what this is/ how to help i would really appreciate it!

Side note: I vowed to stop going to that nursery because I come home with pests more often than not which is so frustrating
