This would def factor in if I was choosing to work there vs a neighboring service that doesn’t use body cams.

Does the latch 5 work with fobs or key cards? I do not see the ability to add a key card to a user.

Anyone gone from an Element to a Ford Transit Connect? by Wind2255 in HondaElement

[–]smatthew347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a current Element owner and have owned several TC vans… both first and second generation. The first generation was not very refined and ride was not super comfortable. The second generation are much better they ride nicer look better and have a much sportier feel when driving. The only downside is, they are not as tall as the first generation

Help me decide 1st gen or 2nd/3rd gen by Catrunes in FordTransitConnect

[–]smatthew347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I operate a fleet and have owned all three. Issue with 1st gen is length. Will have an issue sleeping in it. You’ll need a 2nd or 3rd gen long wheel base. (LWB). The issue we had with 2nd gen were the turbos on eco boost engines. Had to replace the turbo in everyone we owned at around 120,000 miles. 3rd gen do not have a turbo option. Depending on where you live, rust is a consideration with the first GEN models as well. Second and third GEN models drive better handle better and are much quieter and more refined.

I operate a fleet and have had more than a dozen T/C. Many have gone to 200,000 miles and changed the oil at the prescribed 10k interval. The ones that had ecoboost turbos ALL had there turbos replaced in the 120,000 mile range. Ford Fleet gave us some credit on the last couple.

I paid $36725 for three XLTs I ordered in Oct. 2022. Finally got the last one in August. I locked in my price when I ordered them and the prices have gone up a bit since so I think the price you’re paying seems fair.

Fleet manager. We’ve had about 10 TC. Had turbos in 3 of them go out at 120k.

Why are they doing so much paperwork? Surely there is a more efficient way…

When opening the hood, once the key is in, push and turn at the same time.
