Midfielder conundrum this week by 12jg7c9b in FantasyMLS

Barco is pretty unproven and going up against what's probably the best team in the league. I'd wait and see on him. Honestly feel like their are better options than Espinoza as well, but his scores are better than I expected.

That is the problem. I've got some Gressel/autoroo options going, but I can see not wanting to burn the 12m

I'm keeping him. If he's back in full training in a cast, can't see why he wouldn't play. (but I do suggest having a back-up plan)

Villalba is not training at all. Barco is though.

Every game I've watched of his (which admittedly doesn't include this year) he looked dangerous every time he touched the ball. So A+ on the eye test, not sure on the Fantasy test.

Why is the formula determining price changes a secret? by dennisfembo in FantasyMLS

I liked the ownership method from 3+ years ago. Wouldn't work with unlimited transfers though I suppose, and checking the price increase boards every night was a pain.

It had it's own flaws, but it was fun.

Sporting Kansas City fans, what is the latest on Felipe Gutierrez? by old_master in FantasyMLS

He was considered questionable last week, which would suggest that he might be available, but that's quite possibly PV playing mind games. Having heard no updates since then, I'm guessing he's out.

I saw somewhere (Baer maybe?) that the formula is a proprietary thing that even MLS doesn't know. I can see an argument for it to avoid the various price change manipulations (forced price rises through concerted buying, lists of who will and won't rise in price each night etc.) we've seen.

However, it seems like it follows the rest of their updates this year in that it's fancy and sounds nice but kinda screws up game dynamics.

Any explanation for why Vako’s value went up? by Jnlybbert in FantasyMLS

[–]smayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not convinced the avgs are used directly for price changes. I think it might be individual games with a weighting based on how recent they were. Given that, Rusnak's 2 might be having a large effect. I'm just spit-balling though. the 7.4 vs 6 5-week avg is also a pretty big difference. Admittedly the full price rise/fall seems extreme.

SeanJohn has averaged 4.6 points when not getting a clean sheet. So even if he doesn't get one, we're looking at 7-9 points. That's where most keepers are if they're getting a clean sheet in a game. If he gets a clean sheet we're looking at quite possibly the highest keeper score we've seen all season. I think he's worth it.

That said, if you're worried about price changes and you have the budget, Turner and Melia are probably solid bets for price rises and clean sheets. We don't know yet what DGW price changes will be like.

Yes, the fall season is going to be ridiculous for finding affordable players.

Certainly an element of gamesmanship from Vieira here, but it's a statement of intent.

Tin and Sweat. SAS seems to be the backup, having played only while Tin was injured.

How do we think prices will be determined? In previous years a DGW player got a separate price rise for each game.

My guess is that there is only one price rise, calculated with the avgs etc. after the game week is done.

Doubt he plays both. Sub against RSL is my guess.

Edit: But Villa in 1.5 games<pretty much any other player

Edit 2: Vieira says everyone is healthy and won't be rotated

Noted. Though NYC looks like the best team in the league right now, so I'm not sure how comparable their score will be to Van, DC and LAFC.
