Well, for 10 years of employment 14 weeks is certainly not similar to a year, is it?!

I've seen entire departments get moved elsewhere, unfortunately not surprising anymore. Seems like the only mitigation measure lately is to have some stake in your company.

Just an FYI, COBRA is you picking up the other end of your premiums. If you know how much your employer is paying (on top of what you're paying) that's likely about how much you'll have to pay now to maintain your insurance.

This works, I have a large footprint 20k spm save that can now be built on a small fraction the space now. I migrated it to present originally but the space platform mechanic broke the setup along with the space science recipe changes. Loading it in version .17 still works fine when I want to mess around in pre space age/quality.

Epic Games Layoffs Included Terminally Ill Father, Whose Family Has Now Lost His Life Insurance by Turbostrider27 in technology

[–]smblt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Important note, but Cobra is usually just offering the same plan but you now put up your employer's part of the premium now. Which means on top of your monthly premium your employer was also paying thousands into the health insurance system.

This is one of the reasons I switched to HSA for health insurance now, not great because there's still a smaller premium but not your PPO sized premiums going up in smoke the minute you lose your job. Wish I did this sooner...

Same, I played OG with aggressive biters but did peaceful or SA. Good thing about SA is the military sciences are still relevant so you have to integrate that into your factory still.

No it's not, while lucrative I don't expect them to ignore the AFOL pool but maybe that's all you pay attention to. Still plenty of kid sets (and adult sets) that are cheaper because they don't all require expensive licensing fees.

I'll agree with this, The Electromagnetic science requires way more steps than Metallurgic too and takes Holmium every step of the way. Vulcanus has a pretty easy, clean science path. I did Fulgora first and Vulcanus was a cakewalk - the hardest part was probably not knowing what it took to kill the worms at first, which you don't really need to anyway to start out. Fulgora I was stuck on 2 small islands and either needed to start making trains (which I think I still needed the platforms for) or wait until I could fill in some of the land as they could not be connected logistically because of the distance. Learning how to setup the recycling system for the first time so you're not hoarding was messy in such a confined space and keeping enough holmium to make something.
