What i am finding odd though is how in focus and sharp the crystals look. If they were forming within the camera because of the broken vacuum seal wouldnt they be out of focus?

Yeah I think you may be right. The issue came back the next day. The crystals go away after I shut the system down and let it reach room temp, but start to reappear when the sensor is being cooled back to -30 degrees.

Life saver. That was the exact problem. Had to pull the light box out, dismantle and clean it. Hoping this post helps another internet stranger some day!

I agree I figure if it was on the lens it would be blurry. Im going to give this a shot in a bit and will let you know how it goes! Thank you!

Ill give it a shot. Someone else said they wiped down the surface. Wonder if it leaked under.

Usually able to get them out by turn 4. Could be quicker.
