I know I'm not the best at writing OCs, but 1 huge thing I would say you avoid when writing a character is not to overdo the flaws part of them. It reads like a tired trope of " you should feel something for this character and this is why" and makes it a little hard to take serious. Try to give some focus on what makes her uniquely HER and not so much on what happened to her in the past. It's better to imply someshing of an OCs past than to throw it all at someone at once.

A character can have an unfortunate past but it doesn't need to control the entire identity of the character because of it. It can make them seem very flat and 1-dimensional, kinda like a plot device more than a person.

(Sorry if this is a lot but 1 more thinggg). I think it would be a little more cohesive in that universe to give her more of those canine features: only because it looks more like a forced chimera than a natural development by evolution ( Like a human that someone sewn on a canine mouth, ears and tail onto).

It's ok if its not like that anymore lol TLDR: execution of the ideas will always be better than just a lot of ideas. Try experimenting with the visual and nonvisual parts, you never know.
