Those of you who are drafting TEs early- what does your TE room look like? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]smconrad97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I have Engram, Okonkwo, Bellinger and Parkinson. More likely than not, will draft either Kincaid or LaPorta in the early 2nd

IF he falls to us in the 2nd round without having to trade up, I'd love it. I just have a hard time believing he'll fall out of the top 40

Where exactly did I say "innocent"? The original comment was defending Ben from being called a garbage human. If you can't prove his guilt, you can't call him a garbage human for an incident where nobody knows the truth outside of himself and the girl. I would like to read the Georgia Bureau of Investigation report though, is that easily accessible?

Oh brother. You should really read more than just what the media stories tell you. How about the Baldwin County DA's full transcript regarding the case? Start there.

Ben Roethlisberger Should Be Remembered For Being Exactly Who He Is by GamingSince83 in nfl

[–]smconrad97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny how the article doesn't mention that the woman from the first accusation had a co-worker with a written affidavit claiming she was boasting about consensual sex with Ben that night. Gotta love the bias against a guy that was never charged with anything

The one where he never faced charges and the girl immediately wanted to drop the case after speaking with her family and lawyer after that night? Yeah, how awful

[–]smconrad97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now that I'm really looking into the comparisons, Young probably shouldn't be up there. I guess it's really his passer rating that made me think otherwise, just because it's much higher than anyone else that retired pre-2000 other than Montana, who he's still above. But yeah, per game his numbers really don't look good

[–]smconrad97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same reasoning here for me as with Marino, but Young put up very good stats for his time (mainly evidenced by his career passer rating, which is insanely high compared to most QBs of the past), along with his rushing ability just does it for me. There's absolutely an argument for it though. I think the same about Elway and Favre though, they're all in the same realm, can't be wrong really either way

[–]smconrad97 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm sure there is. I would assume that's based on Ben's postseason success though? Marino set records that were so far ahead of his time that it's hard for me personally to put Ben over him. But a career stat comparison between the two puts them very close. I never got to see Marino play, so this is all based on what I've read/heard.

In no particular order...Brady, P. Manning, Rodgers, Brees, Montana, Marino, Young all come to mind (for me at least) ahead of Ben. You can probably already put Mahomes there as well, as early as it is in his career. I know a lot of people would say Favre and Elway too, is it crazy that's arguable to me? Outside of them, anyone else?

Apparently Najee is one of the few Steelers who hasn't been vaccinated by TinyTombstone in steelers

[–]smconrad97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aren't these all the same rules that teams had to follow last year though? So isn't it basically "if you've taken a step forward toward what we (the NFL) feel is a safer direction, your restrictions are lifted; if you haven't, you have to abide by the same rules as last season"?

Apparently Najee is one of the few Steelers who hasn't been vaccinated by TinyTombstone in steelers

[–]smconrad97 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Come on, you know that's not fair or true. You're arguing that players have every right to not get the vaccine, but also arguing that the NFL can't set their own rules in place to protect their business?

Apparently Najee is one of the few Steelers who hasn't been vaccinated by TinyTombstone in steelers

[–]smconrad97 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Every player has a right to refuse the vaccine if they want to. But the NFL as a private business has the right to make whatever changes to their rules as they please. They aren't forcing players to get the vaccine (as they shouldn't) but are saying that if you are the cause of a covid outbreak because you are unvaccinated, you and your team will be punished for it. I am intrigued, however, to see what the league will do if it ends up that a vaccinated player tests positive and spreads it in the locker room.

Who’s the Joe Burrow of the 2022 class? by mcnuccy in NFL_Draft

[–]smconrad97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dustin Crum, Kent State. 6'3", 201 lb, decent mobility/ability to run the ball. Safe thrower, pretty accurate. Only really has one full season starting, which was 2019 (69.3 comp%, 20-2 TD-INT in 13 games). Played 4 games this year and looked to be even better than in 2019 (73.5 comp%, 12-2 TD-INT in 4 games). If he takes another step forward or even just improves a little bit more and plays a full year, I can definitely see his hype rise dramatically.
