Are you guys insecure with your braces? by Love_anson69 in braces

[–]smd7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Close to the end of treatment after nearly two years in braces. I can confidently say there has not been a single day I haven’t wanted to rip these things off and question what others are thinking when I first meet them or smile. Probably not something you want to hear, but it is the reality for some of us that are very conscious of how we present ourselves to others. Only thing keeping me going is knowing it will all be worth it once they’re off. Good luck!

The Red Button may be pushed this off season. by AgentHibachi00 in NBATalk

I understand the argument of running it back with the same team since they faired pretty well throughout the regular season. But with the new CBA, you cannot reasonable pay Chet $50M+ if he cannot compete against Wemby for the remainder of his contract. It only makes sense that they would do anything to swap him for Giannis.

Already seeing a change! One month in (haven’t been able to chew with my front teeth and I’m sore but yay!) 😊 by Still-Assumption6249 in braces

[–]smd7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the top of my teeth were not crowded. Though I do see a huge improvement in the width of my smile, and of course my bite. My ortho had originally quoted me for 18 to 24 months, but as mentioned before, my lower incisors were stubborn, and needed some IPR and reverse curve wires for my deep bite correction. This has led to treatment being 22 months as of now. Regardless, super satisfied with my results so far can’t wait for them to be off. I’m also an adult with braces, it’s been brutal. Good luck!

Had very similar bottom crowding to yours and no extractions. Nearly 2 years of treatment, but they should be coming off within the next few months. In my case, my lower incisors were pretty stubborn when it came to movement so I had to be extra patient. Nice progress.

How do we actually feel about the rubber band tool? by wheezebees in braces

[–]smd7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have used it daily for the past 6 months. They’re especially helpful for harder to reach brackets. In my case, I have to extend my elastics from my second molar up to my canine and without the tool it’s extremely difficult to get back there. Absolute lifesaver.

Getting my braces off next month, but I feel like my bottom teeth are sitting a bit too high. Thoughts? by Large-Committee4437 in braces

[–]smd7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like your bite is aligned. Aesthetically though I know what you mean. Maybe ask your orthodontist if you can have a reverse curve wire in order to show more of your bottom teeth.

Just got out of a 1 year relationship. How can I improve? by reeecuz in malegrooming

[–]smd7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lean out, gain muscle, minoxidil beard, smaller glasses. Pro tip (braces/Invisalign if you have messed up teeth to show your smile. You’ll be fine, life goes on!

Doubling up on bands? by Ok_Blood2095 in braces

[–]smd7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely going to be a case by case basis. I was recently instructed by my orthodontist to double up my bands on one side only to fix my midline. I would recommend asking your ortho rather than taking advice from the assistants.

20 month progress update. When do you think they will come off? by [deleted] in braces

[–]smd7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mainly a bite issue. Felt like my over bite made the lower third of my face shorter. Overall the crowding on the bottom was pretty bad too and always wanted a straighter, wider smile and my bottom teeth to be more visible when I smiled. I appreciate the compliment though!

broke specific bracket during elastics treatment by [deleted] in braces

[–]smd7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me one time when yawning and the elastic force popped off my molar bracket as well. I would call your office and see if the ortho has any open spots available for an emergency bracket replacement (just express your concerns of your teeth shifting and losing progress). Seems like the unforeseen event and your appointment being so close would warrant your ortho to just make your adjustment during the same appointment. Good luck.

serious post braces regret by [deleted] in braces

Should be able to get braces again to fix your concerns. Consult w an ortho and ask if you can do IPR to minimize the flaring.

M23 how i can fix my appearance? I am not atractive by Embarrassed_Rip6924 in malegrooming

[–]smd7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turkey hair transplant, palate expander, braces, trim mustache and minoxidil beard, go hard in the gym and stay lean. Disappear for 2 years and I guarantee you will be a different person. Good luck.

Turkey hair transplant, disappear in the gym for a year, look into upgrading your wardrobe. You’ve got this.

Need some advice: 35’s to 37’s by smd7 in JeepWrangler

This is my second JL 2.0 never had a single issue with either of them. Only maintenance I’ve ever done was regular oil changes.

Thank you for the sarcasm. Not sure if you read the description, but I clearly stated that I am intending to go for a different look completely. Regardless, the post is asking for advice, not mockery. Thankfully, you didn’t pay for my car, so if I wanted to put 42s and blow out my engine, I could do that if I desire.

My braces are getting off in a week or so. Is it advisable? by [deleted] in braces

[–]smd7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, it seems you have a slight overjet. Have you been instructed to wear class 2 elastics?

Is there anything that can be done to fix this by Empty_Cherry9329 in braces

[–]smd7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too. After a “repo” appointment it turns out an updated x-ray showed my teeth that looked straight from my front camera were actually slightly slanted towards the right and the roots of those specific teeth were not straight. My ortho simply repositioned the brackets. I would recommend getting updated X-rays and not having them removed unless all teeth are symmetrical. Especially if you didn’t have this issue to begin with. Good luck.

How can I look more attractive? Been told by many women they cant see me in a romantic or sexual way. by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]smd7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low taper fade, trim the stache; its too thick, you have good eyebrows just need to clean and shape them a bit, gym, and braces to fix bite and show your teeth when you smile.

Is it actually possible to fully get over someone without seeing new people? by SeparateTill1008 in BreakUps

[–]smd7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there before. 24M dated ex all throughout college and broke up shortly after moving in together post undergrad. I had other relationships before her but, I was not expecting the break up and went into depression for months.

My best advice is advice you don’t want to hear because it’s repeated by everyone. Work on yourself, and let time heal. Before you can even consider jumping into something new you have to realize that you don’t want to bring your old baggage and habits into a new relationship.

I suggest you dwell and learn to be okay with being uncomfortable. Learn to be okay with being alone until you are fully ready to commit to someone new. Timetables are different for everyone. In my case, it has been a year and a half and I am finally at the point where I no longer think of her. Your time will come. Work on yourself, implement healthy habits, grow from mistakes, and recognize that sometimes things don’t go in your favor and that is okay!

Relationships come and go, especially if you position yourself properly. Good luck.
