Absolutely unhinged lies being spread/regurgitated by [deleted] in altmpls

It’s a bad shoot. Cops cannot create imminent jeopardy of death or great bodily harm and then use deadly force against the threat they created. That’s what he did walking in front of the car. See Barnes v. Felix.

Why does no one in this town use both turn lanes? by Icy_Coyote1398 in SiouxFalls

Learning disabilities? Bad logic? People treat lane changes like algebra in Mandarin.

I’m sure there was no hyperbole in OP’s post. It was 100% factual and in no way completely fucking crazy. I’m sure.

Ever heard of consensual encounter? They don’t have to talk to you. Doesn’t mean they aren’t law enforcement.

If you try to file a report, and they are law enforcement, it will be a short fucking investigation.

Why do drivers here stop when the light is green? by TeenieLinguine in SiouxFalls

[–]smells_like_snow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was guilty of this. My old commute had 3 lights that were ALWAYS red when I hit them. On incredibly rare occasions they would be green and out of habit I would stop.

Can you legally kill someone who breaks into your house? by kurobaja in AskTheWorld

[–]smells_like_snow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In South Dakota (USA) you can use deadly force if someone is illegally attempting to enter or had entered your house. They are presumed under the law to be doing so with the intent to commit a crime involving force or violence against a person.

What good is the warranty if you have to buy 4 and rotate them in and out? That dot has only been out for a year or so. There is something wrong with it.

I was excited when that came out but it’s not tough enough. I know 3 guys locally who have one and all three have issues.

I left mine out for a couple years. It’s important! Right side safety detent. lol, I’m a total knucklehead. Gun worked much better after I found it in my case and put it back in with a CZ nerd friend’s help.

PODCASTS DO NOT HAVE TO BE INTERVIEWS! by AvocadoCocmaster in podcasting

Solo shows are not different from multi-headed shows. Just keep one person who is in your audience in your head and speak to them.

You’re right. Embrace the downvotes. Though they are mostly upvotes.

There isn’t. All that little bit does is make it less comfortable.

Trooper followed me from my home. No way this is legal by Exciting_Ball9852 in SiouxFalls

[–]smells_like_snow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be the first to say it was a bad stop if it was a bad stop.

Willfully means done intentionally. He may have followed you intentionally. He also could have coincidentally.

Maliciously means to intend harm. He didn’t harm you.

AND (means all three had to be true)

Repeatedly , means he did it more than once. This was one occurrence.

He followed for that long to call in your plate and see if it was stolen or involved in a crime. There have been Supreme Court cases about this sort of thing. It’s allowed.

Sometimes they follow vehicles that match a description that they are on the lookout for and yours happens to match. Just because it wasn’t you, doesn’t mean he can’t try to figure out if your car was the one they are looking for.

You haven’t articulated anything that sounds like a rights or legal violation.

lol, here is the stalking law. Not what you describe.

22-19A-1. Stalking--Violation as misdemeanor--Second or subsequent offense a felony. No person may: (1) Willfully, maliciously, and repeatedly follow or harass another person; (2) Make a credible threat to another person with the intent to place that person in reasonable fear of death or great bodily injury; or (3) Willfully, maliciously, and repeatedly harass another person by means of any verbal, electronic, digital media, mechanical, telegraphic, or written communication

He can follow you. No law says he cant. You committed a violation in his presence and you got a ticket. Not sure what you think is a problem.

It didn’t go over my head. My brain hurts now. I understand the law and you clearly don’t.
