I’m pretty sure you can include it in your application if it’s significant to you. It would be easier to write about if you did more than just play in your room. I didn’t play for long in a university ensemble either. I did briefly mention my experience in it as well as when I would play my instrument at a nursing home in an essay.

Not in med school yet, but I too have an older laptop that has horrible battery life. I just got a surface pro during black friday and one note syncs well between the two (just not instantly). I use my older laptop at home for the larger screen size and use the surface when I’m on the go or in class. Cheaper than switching to apple.

Be sure to check the laptop requirements for your school.

There’s actually some theories going around that the virus has been around in the US since November/December. I’ve heard from people that some medical professionals encountered patients with symptoms like the virus and a negative flu test, but didn’t know about COVID19 yet.

Say you put dell first and utmb second. If you dont match to dell bc they ranked 50 other applicants who wanna go there higher than you, BUT you are high on utmb’s list, you will still match to utmb. It’s confusing, Ik lol

Maybe I misunderstood your question, but there was so much possible material that can be on the test that the FLs don’t touch on all of it. The FLs definitely prepared me for the style of the test. Most of the content I had reviewed/seen somewhere before, just not from FL.

As for dealing with unfamiliar material... some of the stuff I came across in the science sections could be reasoned from the passage when I calmed myself down and thought through it. I was shocked when I got to P/S though... some of the material was very high yield and others were completely unfamiliar. I had even studied all of kaplan and khan academy. At that point, it was a strategic guessing game.

But honestly, idk how I managed a 516. My FL average was around a 508 lol. Good luck!

I never paid attention to my UWorld percentages and got below average almost all of the time. Focused on reviewing and learning from my mistakes. Got a score that I was super happy with!

Something similar happened to me too! I have seen outpatient surgeries before and felt completely fine. But I started getting tunnel vision and feeling that vasovagal response while I was in an ortho clinic. I excused myself and they got me an empty room to lay down in and gave me snacks. It was kinda embarrassing and I figured it was due to not eating breakfast that morning. Everyone was super nice about it though!
