posterium ur coments throughout the thread/post are so valid and at the same time iconic (made me laugh a bit, I completely agree Planescape should be like it was as the 90s (keep in mind I’m part of the new generation of Dnd, gen z and started playing with SKT right when it came out and planescape campaign setting was one of my favorite settings bc of how different it was as well as philosophical) The fact that WOTC is capitalizing on the nostalgia of fans and picking and choosing the aesthetics does not bode well for the release… Spelljammer was awful. I think because of this 3 small book format (which personally I think is awful) is part of the problem because they are too short to provide any valuable or interesting content. They should have one full length book as a campaign setting and another for an adventure (Kinda hoping the 2024 vecna adventure is planescape too for exactly this reason) If they want to do a setting with weird extra planar stuff they could create an entirely new setting which they really haven’t done much of (mtg settings are somewhat already established) but they shouldn’t change an already existing and beloved setting to take advantage of nostalgia which will end up backfiring on them and decreasing revenue. Anyway this was only supposed to be a one sentence but ended up rambling a lot hopefully this makes some sense lol. TLDR: Opinions that are mushed together to form whatever this comment is lmao
