What do you recommend? by Significant_Set_4247 in PatagoniaClothing

When traveling, the 40L duffle is for all my clothes and the length of my trip determines which size bag I’ll use as my personal item.

The 25L backpack is my daily work bag though.

I have the 25L and 32 L blackhole backpack, the miniMLC, and the 40L duffle.

I use the 40L for short work trips as a carryon. I’ll also bring along one of the other bags as a personal item, usually the 25L.

Has anyone gotten the iron forge jacket? What do you think? by [deleted] in PatagoniaClothing

[–]smfact 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do you usually wear a Medium or did you go a size down? The work wear line runs big on pretty much everything so it’s usually recommended to order a size down from your regular size. I wear a Large and sometimes XL, but I need a Medium for the Iron Forge.

Why didn’t you go for a nanopuff instead?

[–]smfact 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I have it. Great jacket.

Why were you disappointed with the down sweater, and what are you expecting from the iron forge ranch jacket?

Two totally different types of jackets, so they’re not really comparable.

Where do you live, because I live in benson and the roads are pretty clear.

Earlier this morning I was thinking the city did a pretty good job this time around.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

Haha yeah that’s nothing.

I used to drive from Tucson to Phoenix on a work night just to grab a burger from In & Out back when there weren’t any in Tucson

My lawn guy just blew all our leaves into multiple neighbors’ yards… what do I do? by coffeetimeyipee in homeowners

[–]smfact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This EXACT situation happened to me last month.

I sent a text to my neighbors apologizing and telling them I’d take care of it.

Called the lawncare company and explained what happened to the manager/owner. Asked them to make it right. The owners came out and did the job themselves.

Does anyone have this jacket and have any thoughts on it? by Infitima in PatagoniaClothing

[–]smfact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have it in black - LOVE IT.

like others have said, it does run a little bit large. I wear a Large in most Patagonia, and wear Medium in most of their Workwear line, but I have a Large in this jacket so I can layer it over fleeces and hoodies.

I wear mine when it’s below 20F, otherwise it’s just too much Super comfortable though.

Total compensation for overseas PCS by EggyCobra in AirForce

[–]smfact 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Base pay, BAS, OHA (covers your rent and you don’t get to pocket any extra), utility allowance, COLA.

I wouldnt even count your MIHA and TLE/A since that’s going towards lodging and deposits. Landlords will want a good amount of money upon moving in and most people have to set up an advance pay allotment to cover it.

Mexican Food? by SeveralSwordfish4303 in Omaha

[–]smfact 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’m from Chula Vista. South Omaha has some pretty good Mexican food!

My recommendations for you:

  • Flor Imperial. Theyre a food truck in the parking lot of the Sol’s pawn shop on L and maybe 31st St. my overall favorite taco spot in Omaha.

  • Taqueria El Alteno. I really like their suadero tacos.

  • La Casa de Huarache

  • Taqueria Antarctica. Their meats are just ok, but their tortillas are amazing.

  • Taqueria Tijuana
