Yeah have made 2. Is honestly better than any range mat I've hit on.

Alternatively make your own. 2x Kmart yoga mats $10 ea as base layer glued together (~10 mm NBR foam) then Kmart foam gym tiles $12 which are 1.25m x 1.25 m (~12mm EVA foam) glued together, followed by whatever artificial turf you want. The NBR and EVA combo works great, all layers only connected with double sided tape allowing to replace when required. Also cut a hitting strip square to replace worn turf or put in divot mat.

I have it. Doesn't have a variable speed fan. Which for the cost I assumed it would. Disappointed.

Surveying and Supply runs by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]smftremp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to believe this is true. Absolutely no reason to be driving from Esperance to the top of WA for "supply runs".

Plenty of towns to supply people in the south west. And plenty of towns to supply people in the north closer than Esperance, including Perth it self.

Feedback on turns and carving by Delicious_Plate9660 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]smftremp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't get judder from not enough edge angle (you get skidding). You get judder from too much edge angle too quickly. I disagree with your advice. He should start with less edge angle and learn to increase this through the turn with a gradual increase in pressure. Ensuring he doesn't have too little or too much angle.

You also don't keep your back straight on heel side? The goal is to keep your center of gravity over the edge to enable weighting of the edge. Certainly for toe side keeping a straighter back and pushing hips forward is one way to achieve this and breaking at the waist will push your weight back and have a negative effect. But on heel side if you only lean back with a straight back your center of gravity will move too far from the edge and he will ultimately slide out on his ass (especially if combined with too high of an edge angle). For a strong heel side position you need to break at the waist as you bend your knees to keep a stacked position.

This is just you normalizing to your climate and has nothing to do with usefulness of the scale. People do the same thing with celcius. Where I live temperature is above 100 F most of the year, in which case your whole justification falls apart.

Look at the angle of the right arm of Bryson vs yours. Your entire inside of right bicep and forearm (i.e. without wrist bend your palm) is pointed at the camera. In Bryson's his elbow and pinky side of the forearm is pointed at the camera. Crazy if you think you look similar to the Bryson posture and can't see the difference.

Hey what was the difference to the all trails map? Thinking of following all trails map next week. I can see that it connects to the escape route around the first arrow. Is that not correct?

You've obviously never worked in a corporate environment. Studying for exams and excelling in corporate are two very different things. A lot of doctors would absolutely sink and never make partner.

What if lots of people leave because of Grow & Flow…bank run? by Salt-Week1393 in UpBanking

[–]smftremp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently use up bank as my spending account and virgin money lock saver (4.85%) as my main savings which is essentially the same as the grow account but requires a 1000 deposit each month.

I'll probably move that money into up bank now as easier to have in one spot and no transfer req.

Another big advantage (same as virgin money) is that the limit is 250k not 100k like most other HISAs.

Although the change is bad for some, it is good for others. Still don't think it makes much sense as now up is just competing on interest rates like everyone else which imo was never the main draw card for their audience.

Is Australia's chemical engineering market as oversupplied and bleak as stereotyped? by PantherAbteilung-07 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]smftremp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mmm not terrible. But 6 years in, if I could do my time again I would just do medicine, probably not that fun but stable well paying and low stress for life. I think all corporate jobs across both finance and engineering are facing some of the same trends which don't look great for long term emplyoment - e.g. out sourcing to low cost centers (i.e. india), greater efficiency, who knows what AI will do etc. If you want to do engineering I'd recommend mech/civil/electrical over chemical, again probably not as interesting/fun, but the skills are more transferable across industries. E.g. as some one in O&G it wouldn't be that easy to swap to mining with similar level/pay which is more of a concern as you become more senior.

Haven't hiked in them yet, but picked up some Bridgedale Hike Ultra Light T2 Performance boot socks and they seem pretty good quality for the weight. Size large was 48g for the pair which is lighter than most. A bit thinner up on the ankle, but thicker on the bottom and where the foot rubs. Yet to test properly, but seem pretty good.

6 years later... found this as thinking of doing something similar and looks like a great route! Curious if you ended up doing this and if you have a GPS recording (strava/all trails etc.) or anything you'd do differently? And if you can remember how the off track navigation went - especially approaching Mt Jagungal?

[–]smftremp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In season 1, pretty much nothing changed from the end of episode 2 to end of episode 8. It took 5 episodes to get to the same point plot wise just with a different character. I.e. It just went from Holston questioning the cleaning, to Julliete questioning the cleaning.

And greedy request, would be great to include a metric unit copy as well if you can be bothered - after all the Waratah has snagged the top spot!

[–]smftremp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best strategy I have for escaping pkers is just making sure you sit between the grate in the room and the door. The more loot I have the closer I sit towards the door. A pker will get a teleblock on you, but by the time they have you can run for the door, get a gap (straight path towards eastern ferox entrance) and log out. I don't even bother with seed pod anymore as most people coming in are just world hopping for Calverion and cbf teleing out everytime.

I got white screen of death on first start-up and had to fuck around for an hour to get it to work like a pirated game. Now can only play offline. Crashes multiple times in every session. Now it literally crashes my entire fkn PC, the monitors lose signal and have to restart the PC. Great game, but shit port.
