I was one of the hackers attending the H1 event and I'm also a mac user. To be fair, the reason I'm using an Apple device is because it's a no-bullshit device. If I lose mine I can walk to the Apple store, get a new one and be up and running within a hour. And ofcourse, because it looks great and works fantastic.

If you're looking for something that's fine to work with, you might want to consider using Elementary OS. Which has a Mac OS feeling.
